Great work on the whole truck. Everyone screws up once in a while when they do things themselves. At least it wasn't too expensive a screwup. And thanks for the power steering hose tip. Works good. Its a little tight with my engine set back so far, but its working for now. Can you move your center two bumper brackets out to take the bow out? Sorry had to bring that up now. Good luck.

I used black silicon to seal them in. its not the best choice. I wouldn't recommend it. its messy and don't look quite right.

Very nice! Did you just use a razor blade to trim the silicone after it dried on the vent window?

Yes i used a Razor Blade. the vent windows look good nice and even with the metal trim. its the window that looks kinda bad. when its all the way up you can see it. and it looks like I cut it with a dull butter knife.

First I have to say, your avatar freaks me out! Im not sure about cruising, there's 5-6 inches of snow up here right now started a few days ago. I hope to have everything done real soon. and my first drive will be to the alignment shop and get some exhaust on it.

I looked at Rustoleum,Duplicolor, and herculiner Bedliners. each had there good points and bad. I ended up choosing rustolem over the other two. because it looke like it was the simplest to repair, and the most cost effective. Its probably not as durable as the hurculiner, but its mainly for looks, more than likly it wont be out in the weather, and the only thing that it should be hauling is ass.

first I started by cleaning all the parts and left over crap out of the bed. then used the vacuum to get all the small stuff.



rustolleum sells a kit, that comes with a scuff pad, roller and a small tray for $15. forget that. went two isles over at walmart and got a $3 roller and cut it in half to fit one of my wifes house paint rollers, a $0.46 plastic paint tray liner, and a scuff pad left over from the body work. what a racket they got going. any way, taped off the edges, and rolled the first coat of bed liner.





looked kinda blotchy at first, but by the second coat started to look pretty good.



Put a total of 4 coats on. it was kinda stinky so I wore my respirator.





then I did the tailgate.





rolled the liner over the edge of the tailgate.

It goes on real easy and looks good. I dont think it would be very good in a work truck or a bed that sees a lot of heavy hauling. it's not very thick or tuff. but if your using it like I did, just for appearances or light hauling such as grocery's, lawn chairs for a car show, or things of that nature. It would be fine.

Mike, you make such great progress in such short time!
I was looking back over your build and I have a couple of questions for you
1. I know the wheels are Boss 338's but are they all 4 the same width and offset and also what size tires are you running on them?
2. what steering wheel did you go with?

The wheels are 18x8 in the front running a 245/45/18 the rear are 18x8.5 running 255/45/18.
I dont remember the name brand of the wheel. I got it on ebay. when it came, it had a cheap vinly wrap around it. When I had my seat, and door panels reupholstered with ultra leather, there was enough material left over, so I had them redo the steering wheel as well. So it matches the seat.

back glass install.

I thought I read some where that it was best to find the center of the window opening and the center of the glass and make sure the two line up. So I got out my Black n Decker laser level again. I first used it to line up the center of the frame with the center of the cab, and then find the center of the bed and core support. unfortunatly I tore off all the tape marks, so I had to do it again.



put the gasket in and then marked that



then found center on the glass





I struggled putting the seal on to the glass. but the wife came over and she put it right on.



she gloated so much, my son came over to see if he could show me up too.



with the seal on it was time to put in the rope. they did such a fine job on putting the seal on, I let them do that to.



they didn't want to put the glass in with out me though. I guess its nice to be needed sometimes



so while the pushed on the out side, I pulled the rope on the inside.



after 3 attempts it finally went in. and Tyler wanted to be the one to clean all the finger prints off



I must give credit to my 7 year old daughter Sara. she was in charge of the photographs and did a pretty good job. in fact most of the photos you'll see with me in them, she took.
