Like much of North America, we got hit with snow, freezing rain, sleet and high winds this weekend. The '89 didn't care.

This is a daily driver, so it is always a work in progress. Mods - Long box to shortbox, tinted windows on drivers door, 1994 Chev aluminum rims.

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
Here`s my`92 K3500 work truck. It`s a 5spd with a Peninsular Marine built 6.5TD(300hp).I factory ordered it.It`s got buckets and all the bells and whistles(except auto trans). The paint is Woodland Green, the commercial fleet color that`s been around since day#1.I wanted to create a modern classic. You won`t find many loaded company trucks. She`s been real good to me.I only replaced the motor because I had it from wrecking my`95.It`s for sale @$6,000 b/o...
Anybody need a good work truck?Or,do a solid axle swap and have an awesome 1ton.Or...donate it for a diesel/overdrive swap into a classic. That`s what I`ll do if I can replace it w/o selling.

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
I'm new to this whole thing and only found about it cause I was looking for some answers on building a custom center console for my 97 Tahoe. I bought it off of ebay in July 2005 in Tennessee, I'm from outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. It is a 2 door with barely any rust and only a few minor dings with about 170,000 miles (151,700 when I bought it). I have owned in the past a 1990 GMC full size regular cab long bed lowered truck that had no options except for cruise. I updated the front end but never had a chance to get it painted before I sold it. I also had a 1992 full size Chevy Blazer that I had too many problems with so I decided to sell it before Thanksgiving of this year. I still have the Tahoe and plan on keeping it for a long time. I just recently bought the 20's for it this year and have changed out all the lights to blacked out lights and added the bull bar with foglights and a GMC grille with a billet insert. I plan on adding a custom built center console in the near future and any other little thing I can to make it a more fun to drive vehicle.

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
Hi. new member here. just wanted to post some pics of my rides and a little info about them. the attachments are of my '88 silverado and my '57 3100.
the '88 is my daily driver and was bought new by my father who died in 1990. my mother kept it for a few years then gave it to me. it had 5000 miles on it when he died and it had 12000 on it when i got it in '97 current mileage on it is 62000. on one of the pics you will see the 50000 odometer reading from July 2004. I'm trying real hard to keep it as stock as possible and as you can see it could use a paint job. those years were bad about loosing clear coat on the hood and roof. the '57 is my toy. it has a 350, 4wheel disc's, front suspension from a camero and rear suspension from a corvette, electric fuel pump and fans. the seats are from a '93 chevy 80/20 splits. i just replaced the bed wood a couple of years ago and am now in the process of changing the pulley system over to serpentine and a short water pump in order to fit bigger fans. (yep it runs a little hot) it does more garage time than anything only coming out on occasions when i feel like cruising. Last edited by Strutter; 06-17-2007 at 01:18 PM. |

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
Hi everyone. New to the forum. Just moved to Alabama from California and wanted to put my truck on here. It is stuck in California because I can not find a hauler to bring it back here. I get the same answer from everyone, "There are too many people moving from California and everyone is backed up." Now on to the truck. It is a 1991 Chevy Silverado with a newly installed 370HP/430TQ (at the flywheel) 383 stroker. JBA headers and new 3" piping into a Magnaflow 3" I/O Cat and 3" I/O Flowmaster Super 40. I installed a 5/7 drop with a mini c-notch and Belltech Nitrodrops on all 4 corners and once I finish the bodywork and figure out the 2-tone colors, then the rims are off to the powder coater and a new set of shoes. Pioneer head unit, Infinity Kappa speakers in the dash, kick panel and rear with 2 10" Kickers. I have shaved the tailgate handle and when the truck gets to Alabama I will be working on shaving the custom rollpan, door handles and adding suicide doors, the antenna, taillights and installing a line of fire instead and dechanneling the top and bottom of the body. I will be upgrading the fuel and ignition system, and going from computer controlled TBI to carburetor and some serious engine bay clean up. It runs good now, but you can always make it run better. The sticker on the back window says it all, "WORK IN PROGRESS". Looking for other members in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area.

1994 K1500 Silverado Z-71 short bed with step sides (5.7L auto). Bought new, 190,000 miles, all OEM parts and dealer only repairs. We use it to haul an steel Sundowner horse trailer (and horse). Currently in the Adam's Hill area of Glendale, hoping to hook up with some good contacts for repairs and DIY in the Los Angeles area.
The pix were taken in Washington D.C. in 2004 (I think). |

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
Here's a pic or two of my 90 SS...I am hoping I can run a turbo on it some day... For now it is stock except for the hood mod
Also have the parts to do a 6-speed swap. This is not my truck but it would be identical. Last edited by RatPoweredTruck; 11-18-2007 at 11:34 PM. |
