Right now we are running between the 6-8 week mark on the build time.

Making a little headway on getting back to the 4 week build time, and doing our best to get the parts out a bit quicker.

If you have an order in, shoot me a message and we can get you an update.

Nate

That kind of wait time is ridiculous. Seriously dude, hire some more people or whatever it takes.
Maybe farm production out to china like everyone else..LOL
I would have ordered from you but I wasn't going to wait 6 weeks. Spent my greenies somewhere else.
I know you build top quality stuff but it aint gold plated.

All I have to say is... I hate that for you! 6 weeks of waiting to have the best on the market; thats nothing!! In the process of ordering my dropmembers I talked to Nate about the wait and if you want to know my opinion (as a small business owner myself) I think he should raise his prices! I would have paid more for my dropmembers because its the only product on the market that is gonna give me exactly what I want! Nate has a small group of talented guys and I understand the frustration of hiring someone new and training all that jaz.
Keep it up Nate, you and your crew produce awesome products! Oh and I see gold every time I look at my Dropmembers!

2nd that rus. That just means that the people that don't want to wait will leave room for the people that do. Porterbuilt keep up the awesome work and thanks for the excellent customer service.

Ever think that MAYBE the level of quality that goes into each piece takes a little time and effort? Maybe Nate isn't sitting at the bench like a Jack in the Box grill cook waiting for the next order to drop so he can get it out fast enough for the drive thru?

I know for sure none of my welds have ever looked this good.

That's beautiful. That piece should be sitting on a coffee table in a high end home. It's artwork, if you ask me.

This is a big problem with our society these days... The "I want it now" attitude. He ain't Autozone, he is a custom fab shop! These pieces he's MFG'ing take time and skill that you may not understand or have an appreciation for... Your loss.

I know you're entitled to an opinion, but telling someone to "hire some more people or whatever it takes", doesn't understand the business.

I'm sure Porterbuilt will be just fine... they've come this far doing what they do.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

Rus is 100% correct on this. My dropmembers were absolutely worth the wait and I am a very impatient person so for me to say this means a lot.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

Broey man that would be so sick.

I'm with rust built. I own a business also and it sucks to hire, train, teach others to do something you take great pride in. Regardless of what Mr President says I built my business from scratch, one car at a time, one late night or worked weekend at a time. I have ordered several times from Nate and sometimes the wait time was a week, others 6 weeks. It is what it is. He holds his guys, comps y, and his name to a standard. If that means longer wait time and he's ok with that then so be it.
I wouldn't want to wait 8 weeks, but if the DM was the weapon of choice for me... Then I will wait.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I waited about 8 weeks for my dropmember. It was easy to get impatient at times, but the end result is well worth it IMO. And once my dropmember showed up I was like a little kid on Christmas. And the quality is unbelievable. Top notch product for sure. Thanks again Nate, Dave, and all the PB fabricators!

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

Had to add to my last response. All I can say is that everyone who ordered from Porterbuilt is a happy customer. That with in itself proves that what Porterbuilt is doing keeps customers happy. If you haven't ordered from Porterbuilt because of the lead times you my friend are missing out!!!!!

Not everyone was a happy customer from a few posted complaints I've seen so PB's human... . But the rest of us understand the build time & appreciate the communication & follow-up (expected & appreciated by me).

For comparison, MMW is minimum 6wks out for 2 a-arms.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

First off I appreciate all the support and compliments to what we do. We do our best and have a pretty good track record when it comes to quality and customer service. Perfect... no, but be always try to improve and always learn from experience.

Our current build time is pushing the 6 to 8 week mark on the orders... that's longer than I would like. The goal is to get it back to the 4 week range without sacrificing quality. That's not the easiest thing to do. We do have some new equipment coming in that should be here the end of May that will help speed up the production process and streamline a few things. We are also working on adding some more help in the shop... which is harder than most would think. I have a high standard and the "right" guys aren't easy to come by... or cheap. Needless to say, we are expecting to get back to the 4 week mark by the middle to end of summer (we will see how it goes).

My business philosophy is simple... high quality parts and service will equal a steady flow of business. I know that not everybody wants to wait, but that's OK. Seems to be sufficient for enough guys to keep the food on the table and the doors open here at Porterbuilt.

Nate
