Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I always like wheels that are the same color as the body color, if the truck is one color.
If it's a two tone color (white/xxxx), then I think white wheels look good. BTW: your truck is one of my favorites on the board. A real truck! Just my $0.02, Dano

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Awesome news about the front brake setup definitely worth it all day long I love mine. As for the red I have it on my truck so you know I'm a fan but ill be switching to the original paint scheme possibly next summer when I can put the truck down for a couple months

Red is pricey buddy.. Im thinking you already know.
But its tough to beat a slick red 68, white grille and 71-72 white top. I saw one at GG that was stunning. Keiths truck comes to mind. You guys met Lucy right? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I'd have to disagree I did my red on a budget because it was a mixed color and the customer didn't like it plus it's centering so it's only single stage just depends on what rout Shawn wants to take with it I think he's quite fond of his patina so far

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
It's funny you mention that cause when I first got the truck I said I'm glad they painted white Then as I started replacing and fixin the interior the red dash and roof started to grow on till one day I said the original red looks really good. Now I look at red trucks with the 67-68 front end and I say that looks so good with the chrome accents

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
my truck was originally white with "red vinyl trim" probly looked a lot like yours does now. unfortunately all thats left from the original truck is the frame and doors!
agree on the chrome... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Great choice on painting it back to the original Red, in my opinion nothing looks better than a Bright Red 67-68. Mine will be red too, there is no way I'm going to paint it back the original Blue/White. I know you see alot of red and people always tell me not to do it cause there are too many red trucks but I just don't care. Red is my favorite color and it just looks amazing on our trucks. I like the Red/White combo Chad suggested, I was thinking about that for mine. Red with a white grill, roof and letters in tailgate.

Did you use the same holes the original pedal plate was using? Only hole you had to drill was for the cable correct?
