I hope they've improved the fit of these. I purchased a set back in 2000 to use on my 68. The splines would not engage the spider gears. I tried filing them down slightly after discussion w/them w/no success. I ended up shipping the axles back to them w/one of my originals (so they could see the splines weren't messed up). I also taped (yes, slid on & taped in place) one of my spider gears so they could see what I was encountering.

I got the axles back a week or so later..... w/no spider gear. According to them, I didn't send a spider gear (remember, it was taped in place). So, approx 3wks after the original receipt of their axles, I had some that fit better, but now I had to source another spider gear since I had one missing.

I procured another spider gear only to still have issues getting the axles fully seated enough to install the c-clips. It seems the bearing races aren't machined in the exact correct area or the axle lengths are incorrect as there is wear on the differential pin that keeps the axles seated.

This was on a factory 6-lug, 1968 12-bolt housing. Like I said, hopefully things are better.

Thanks man! I think I'll pick up a pair of the mufflers.

I am really happy with the look of the wheels... wish they offered a different width for the back, but it still works.

This truck you're building is pretty epic! I'm loving all the detail work going into it, keep it up!

Thanks, We built a 67 Buick Wagon a few years ago with 145 powdercoated parts on it. It was a huge success for my job shop. The car was featured in Hot Rod and Car Craft magazine and has received several Good-Guys awards. SOOO we needed a new project !!!

Stay Tuned !!!!!!

What's up with the repop fenders? Were the originals to rough?

Got it all fitted and bolted on the frame. Hopefully this thing is ready to roll soon. Then we'll be powdercoating all the parts we possibly can!

The re-pop fenders kinda suck ???? the originals were real ruff and rusty. We have a process with powdercoat to simulate the patina. Stay Tuned

Can't wait to see the PC process for simulating patina. Are you going to have a step by step process, or is it top secret?

77, I purchased the fenders on E-Bay the fenders fit fairly well but they do not fit the grille / header panel at all. We may have to cut these up and us the front half of the stock GM fenders.

That's what I was afraid of....my fenders aren't too bad, but the main rust on them is on the fronts of them

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

Cutting the fenders in half and using the Gennie fronts will be cool! Matching the powder to patina will be a great trick. You can't let that secret totally out. The Technology challenged shops that bad mouth you and try to copy you may get a clue!!!
Just sayin...
