Thanks. I've enjoyed working on my Suburban for the last three years. I still have a few more things to complete before it's finished. That is my youngest, she loves to steal the scene.

Good luck with your suburban purchase. Maybe you should start your own build thread. Remember, if you need any advice, it's always free!

Thanks. How else can I learn all this stuff but to do it on my own? Plus I'm too cheap to pay somebody. But now, it's put away for the winter.

I noticed that you have a build starting, I'll have to check it out.

OK, but it's not related to this build. The quality of the pictures aren't the best because the actual artwork is too big to scan. The first is a jet ski I drew that I later painted. This was a test before I painted the truck.

These next two were drawn shorty after. This was an extreme laid out Denali front end, 22's. I drew this one to design my flames to give me an idea what this color scheme would look like.

I have a couple more but I have to re-size them.

Oops. I started a riot on you're thread! The pictures look sweet! I like the flame on top of flame paint on the jet ski. I have a couple of new ones coming when I find time to do them, they are for other people on here. Hope they turn out as good as yours!

Thanks. I'm assuming you mean the 22's, it's nice that Suburban's have a large enough wheel well to fit 22's. Lately I've been thinking of going back to something more classic, thin white walls with stock wheels and hub caps with beauty rings. I've got the tires kicking around, I just need to swap to the stock wheels. Just for fun.

Thanks James. I haven't done any drawings in a while; free time is hard to come by.

Sorry for jacking you're build thread with a question about drawings. Maybe we need a new area for "Artistically Talented Gearheads"?

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

Back to the subject. A week ago work was slow so I decided to put some white walls that I had laying around on my old stock wheels. The fronts are 205/75/15 and the rears are 235/75/15. My father-in-law has a tire mounter and a balancer at his shop so I went and hung around the shop for the day. I also mounted some tires on the rallies I picked up a while back. Saturday I pulled the 'burb out from its winter storage beside the house and slapped the white walls on. I still need to clean up the hub caps and paint the wheels. I really like the old school look.

[

Plans are to change the drivers window regulator, pas. wing window, and put so good miles on thoughs tires.

Thanks bro. It doesn't take much to make these trucks look good. Even a simple look works well.
