Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
And here is a comparison of the 3 manifolds.
Stock, 4 down to 2 adapter, and the true manifold. Surprised at how clean the plugs were to. All that fuel and limited air and burning nice an clean with stock points and a hot coil. lol! Really hoping the extra air will help. It should. Later guys! More updates to come!

Can you explain to me what a magnum intake is? What it came off of and so on. Pretty cool intake.

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Well guys, Installed everything today...and aside from a few vacuum leaks to fix...Man..I say MAN did opening the plenum make an improvement!!! Sheesh! Has a couple leaks around the intake manifold gaskets so new ones will be here Tuesday. Also has a tiny one between the adapter and manifold. So Wednesday I'm planning on installing the new gaskets and re-sealing it all up. Should run like a champ then! Idling a bit rough and back fires a tad when slowing down which is what it never did before. So, that all should be remedied soon I hope! Later guys! Hope ya'all had a great weekend! Will be making a video soon.

Mine is a 64 GMC also and has a 305E also and I know it's original cause my dad bought brand new and gave it to me a few years back.

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Yep! One Easy way to tell is on the back of the intake. There will be a month-day-year stamp there telling when the engine was made. In my case..1967 telling me an engine swap was done...which is cool cause mine is the more powerful one. lol!

engine swaped in for the orginal 305 E, then you had the intake milled down for the adatper plate so a 4 bbl could be fitted.??

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Nope, The engine had the original 305E swapped for a later model 305E. I bought the magnum intake off of a guy with a 351E and modified it and put it on my 305E.

For a young man your age you already have the 6's down patt! You remind of myself at your age. It's funny if you are interested in something, all the info remains in your head for some reason lol. Great info TJ--nice work.

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Thanks Kimble! Yeah, straight 6's and the GMC V6's have had my interest for awhile. Mainly because you don't see them to often and because you can do mods that require fabrication rather than just purchasing stuff from Summit. Love fabricating; so making my own 4 barrel intake was a blast.

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Well we have a running and driving video finally! Unfortunately I couldn't do a good acceleration test because I was holding the camera. Much easier to have someone else holding it while driving. lol But it's way better than stock no the less. She tows better to! hauled a fairly heavy load of wood Saturday and she done good! Later guys!
Hey brotha, You mind doing Bomp's video trick for me? lol Or re-sending me the how to? I'm still cornfused. haha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjpfx4YZzoY

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
Well Crustine did another job well done this morning! Hauled a couple loads of fire wood...load on bed and trailer. That 305 V6 pulled with ease. Can't believe people complain about these! And if ya take some time and do a 4 barrel mod and dual exhaust things get even better!
