Re: Cheap trick patina 70

I figured with the brushed trim plus having to go to 5 on 4.75 this was the way to go

I prep with wax and grease remover. Then I tac rag it and I seal it with the black Sems. Then I top coat it with Sems hot rod black. It goes in a gun.

Good choice on the wheels! What are the specs on the rear wheels?

Re: Cheap trick patina 70

Thank you! I was thinking of going 12" out back but after seeing the huge price jump between a 10 and a 12, I'm thinking of going 10" with this kind of backspacing.

Re: Cheap trick patina 70

Ok update. I got all the new trim on the sides of the bed. The bed has been done with line x. I am painting the wood black. And I am undecided on the strips but I have some ideas. Here are some pics.

I dont even (didnt used to anyway) like lowered trucks but ya'll have changed my way of thinking .This thing looks killer . I have always appreciated all the work and fab skills that the lowered trucks required but just didnt think it would ever be for me .If I ever do another I may try one .

The bed looks incredible. Plus, really dig the black finish on the wood. You definitely have the touch with these trucks.

Looks awesome! As far as the bed strips if it were mine, I would make those satin as well. Just my $.02!

As the C-10 Club members always say about me, Vdog is always late to the party. But with that said, after going through your post I liked the choice in wheels, gotta have the rear deep. The engine and Edelbrock issue to me makes it look classy and old school. Your bed strips, I thought a gun metal grey my be cool over the black wood. Either way, you got a great build and look forward to seeing it at Brothers.
