Re: Show off your Wheels

Anyone know whose truck this is and what wheels he has?

I kinda assume they're typical Torq Thrust II's but I'm wondering the size, width, back space?

I'm with Dan - sure would like to know the particulars (backspace, etc.) on these. Just what I'm looking for.

Cheers, Jim

Got the tires cleaned up today and caps modified to fit. Unfortunately I have some motor issues and couldn't pull it out of the garage.

Coupe guy, I really, really like those on your truck. VERY nice. I don't know if it's that your truck is a long bed or what but they look great. Congrats. Screaming deal too!

Re: Show off your Wheels

i found this site with this info, thought it would help.
rimsntires.com/specspro
go to size comparer under tools on the left side of page, you can mess with the rim tire and offsets .

Re: Show off your Wheels

Thanks Guys,
I accidentally found the ad for the wheels on craigslist and went for it.
The guy I got the wheels from bolted them on his truck, and got about a foot when he realized they were rubbing on his ball joints, or tie rods, so I had a little cleanup to do on the inside of the wheels.
So since he couldn't use them, he flipped them, and I ended up with them.

Be aware, the lugs are 5 on 5 instead of 4 3/4.

I have a 72 chevy truck rear end under it, and "racing " discs from Speedway to use them.
The 72 rear end is 8" wider than a stock TF rear, and so I had to have flat wheels. The rear fender lips are rolled with an aluminum baseball bat, and then finished up with home depot paint sticks and C clamps to get the 1/4" clearance on the outside of the tires.
I have 3" dropped springs, so there is no side to side play so the tires do not rub.
The wider stance really helps it corner with the 1 1/8" sway bars

The wheels are 9" wide, and the tires ended up being 10 3/4 " wide. 27 inches tall with 255/50/17
on all 4 corners.
Unfortunately, the Impala SS is the only car that uses that size tire. Tire price is about $150 per tire.

Re: Show off your Wheels

The wheels are 8" Corvette "AZ" Code Rally rims and the hubcaps are from a swamp meet. Sorry no specifics.
The offset is neutral (4").

Re: Show off your Wheels

I have a 58 3200 fleetside. I found some 15 x 8.5 rims on Craigslist I like. They are 3.25 Back spacing(from wheel mount surface to inside of rim. My stock rims are 3.5" BS. Anyone running this size have opinions/experience on clearance in the rear, or steering (no power steering) with wide fronts?
