I'm guessing after a long day that engine was pretty tired

So...is it listed for sale already?

Definitely an overheated Big Block (HEAD!!!) seeing it together is an awesome feat for the both of us....Thanks to Jesse for all the hardwork, the garage space, and the patience to work with somewhat of an idiot!!!

This could totally be a low budget build....add your drivetrain, steering column, fuel/ brake lines, a little wiring, tighten up all the body bolts, alignment, and you got yourself a driver/ rolling resto

Re: 71 Cheyenne Super- A Combined Effort

I got a quick question on the panel alignment on the bed. How good do the body lines match up after cutting the bed pieces out? I'm thinking of going this route cause short bed fleets are getting harder to find. I;m worried about the aft body line not looking right. Did you have to do alot of messaging, or filler to get it right?

Maybe Jesse will jump in with his thoughts, but make sure you follow this thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=223158&page=8) for measurements and tips.....We have just tacked these together, but as we did it, we used a flathead screw driver to pull the panel up flush then hit it with the heat....seems to have lined up pretty good...

Re: 71 Cheyenne Super- A Combined Effort

The only other thing I would add is that instead of only using the screwdriver trick to align the panels, I preferred working both edges with a hammer and dolly to get the curvature the same prior to welding. We still used the screwdriver to get them perfect, but the prep work with a hammer and dolly ensured they matched 95%.

Man, sorry to hear you couldn't cut a deal as a complete truck with someone. I sure thought you guys would sell it pretty quick.

I guess you guys just ran out of free time? or just tired of messing with it?
I thought you guys were on the downhill side of the build.......
