This is the '68 GMC I bought in July of 1983 when I was 15. My dad owns it now, and is giving it to my son in the picture- who is 15 now.

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
our other 4x4 is our '05 Z71 Tahoe. it doubles as a grocery getter/tow rig... we worked on the sound/added a power inverter for some creature comfort on long trips or the wheeling/camping tirps. my son and i built all rigs... however the wife turned a few wrenches. hope my son and i can take this and do a good job on the '52
last tacoma i built (no longer own) 2 of 3 toyota 4wd's (no longer own) wife's old rig (no longer own) Last edited by 52streetrod; 01-04-2007 at 12:21 AM. |

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
Here is my 72 Chevy 3/4 4x4. has a 327 small block, sm465-205 with dana 44 and eaton ho52 diff's w/4.10 gears. When I bought it, it no body or motor. Spent a fall fixing all the po's screw-up's. Blue body is off my second 71 2wd, original body was shot. Rims and tires are from dieseleater(adrian), which are in great shape. Has a slite 2 inch lift, blocks in back and 73-87 springs up front(cheaper, but longer), set the diff back a little bit, but ORD zero rate blocks to fix it. Plan on putting 4" lift in coming months. Plan to redo body this spring and summer and to paint it.

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
yeah...work in progress. Only thing stopping this toy:money
planning either a 454 big block or rebuild a 75 350 from another blazer (heavy duty aplication, non emissions, non egr). 8 inch lift and 35 or 38 inch tires. Lots of other mods but i wont go in depth till i start building. Had a tree play tag with it during an ice strom. im planning a 73-78 front clip. 8 kc daylights (5 on top, two in front, one mounted like a spotlight) it will be a tough looking road hog now.

Re: Post "Your" 4x4 pic here..........
Was at the farm today, so took a pic of the old trucks. This is the blazer who's driver thought he could make it into his driveway in perfect weather, somehow missed the drive hit the ditch and rolled it. Hasn't moved under its own power for years, its 350 may be going into my 86 k5 listed above. that is the legendary 1976 4 wheeler with nearly 300k miles on it, and has yet to have any major motor work done old truck. 3/4 ton too (if you cant tell by the hubcaps) and has the heavy duty 350.
