Truthfully, I don't even know what brand or model it is as I'm pretty new to these trucks, Old Rochester maybe? This one's shooting fuel out from under the brown washer in the middle of the body where the arm comes up.

Can these be rebuilt expediently?

I've also read that folks are swapping out Holley 500's on these motors- any advice on the matter is appreciated.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I believe that is a stromberg ww carb and it looks like you have a busted accelerator pump seal. The part number for the rebuild kit is CK449 and it should run you about $50. They arent hard to rebuild but switching to a 500cfm 2bbl Holley would be a better choice as these carbs are very outdated; even in '64. Now would be the time to swap. But thats just my opinion. If you had an inline 6 i have a freshly rebuilt rochester laying around and was gonna offer it to you to get you going again, but thats not the case here.

Yesterday I picked up a '64 GMC cab that is sitting- I mean literally just sitting on a '73-87 frame. Now to figure out what to do with this one....

Yesterday front wheel bearing pack , brake check, greased frontend, resealed old factory seal at lower seam on cowl just below vent, it started leaking a couple of years ago.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Drove about 100 miles taking the long way and back from a buddy's house. He loaned me a cherry picker and an engine stand. Got lots of looks cruising alone in the 66 with those things out back.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Cool thread Sam.
I didn't do much... replaced the heater wheel, OG one was making a racket. Wired in some courtesy lights with door jamb switches.
Might have a line on a posi 3.73 rear end... the 3.08 peg-leg and T5 is a bad combo.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Monolith,

The change is not hard, you already have the rare part - "The Dual Intake", with out that you're dead in the water.

You need a holley 500 CFM carb, or another brand of your likin' and adaptor plate and you might need to make a new accelator linkage due to the dog leg you'll need, but other than that you're good to good. See webshots pics below.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Thanks a million for the advice guys! This site is a goldmine of encouragement and knowledge.

I'll be ordering a Holley 500 today after work, went around to my FLAPS's yesterday- no luck finding one in stock, have to order it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Mounted the transmission cooler and cooler lines. Then tried to make the kick-down cable reach and wished I could get it connected to the existing carb on the Inline six... Anybody have a turbo 350 behind a six cylinder and stock one barrel carb???
PLEASE send me a PM with how you hooked up the detent kick-down cable!!

I have the same set up and can't get mine to reach. I'm still working on a solution.

Completed my carb linkage, put my driveshaft together and started it up- just to hear it run.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I put a new starter in today. I'm alittle scared though. I might have torqued the bolts just a little too much. So far it's workin great.

I took an extra day to clean it up and paint it. I installed it yesterday. Today will finish hooking it all up, detail wiring and such.
