Mine is an ugly light green 503 color on my 67 and it rusting/chalky and thats the first thing I get asked " What color you painting it"? I just say " IT IS PAINTED". :-)

my frame is a medium metallic blue the inside is close to the org. color the outside is flat black now. i need to take new pic's of it and post them.

worked on the chevy a bit today.

first i got the last of the inconsistenties out. the bottom lip of the frame hung past the boxing of the frame and the top lip wasn't long enough, also there was that random bent up part on the passenger side.

BEFORE:


AFTER:






i also sanded most of the casting marks off of the UCA mounts.




then i sanded a part of the notch to see what was under the rust. lol


after that i welded the bed mounts back on, tried to replicate the rivits

also watched my buddy design and build this today. replicates the movements of the pointer so you can reproduce tabs and such.

frame is flipped over, been finishing it up.









heres the start of plasma thing-a-ma-jig 2.0


then observing my buddy build body stiffeners. also made a sweet b pillar brace but i forget to take a pic of it. lol

started on cleaning up the back half today.

first i made lower arm gussets.




then i hacked off the extra 2x2


after that i welded up the last of the notch




then cut out the welds i wasnt happy with and re did them





then gusseted the wishbone mount


last i did a overlay plate





thats all folks.

took my motor and tranny up today. and then made another gusset. first time using a brake. came out titties. more progress tomorrow.

and a question for everyone. should i make my tranny crossmember, carrier bearing crossmember, and bridge out of 1.5" round tube, plate, or square tubbing?

all loaded up




bent up. my dumb ass forgot to put a radius on it before i bent it. lol

i know how that is. my chevy got delayed when i had my bodied toyota. lol

progress from today.

plasma is my new favorite, lol


grinded down, god that sucked

and the motor mounts have begun. motor is going down 2" and back an 1"
