Then came Saturday...the deadline... the day of the Rumblers... we needed to do about 2-3 hours more work to get in ready (clean out the gas tank and fuel lines)... Unfortunately, some things came up and we weren't able to put in those hours. We didn't make our deadline. We ended up going in the '62. We still had a blast, but all night long I was a little bummed out about not finishing the '65 in time.

Yesterday evening, after work, I headed straight to the shop.
On Tuesday night, I had to go to the recording studio...the band is working on a CD and we were working on some vocals... while I was doing that, Lisa and Stephen went to the shop and removed the gas tank... When I arrived to the shop on Wednesday evening, Lisa's brother Carlos had the tank ready and the fuel lines blown out. We just had to bolt it back in. So we put some gas in it...Carlos tuned the carb and adjusted the timing... And we were able to drive it!!! Happy Days were here again!!! We drove it home last night!! She's home where she belongs!!  This morning, before leaving to work, I snapped a few shots... Here's how she looks now...

Looks great to me!!!! Thats funny about the insulation in the doors; that stuff is like a sponge.
Are you going to run mirrors? When I got my truck it didnt have any and I just couldnt take it...ended up with some peeps.

It's going to have mirrors...
Lisa has some new, original style chrome mirrors for it...left and right. I tried to get one on last night, but I couldn't get one of the screws out. Probably because of that dam insulation, it's rusted on there...

Joe the 65 is SUPER SWEET!! you guys have done a great job. I love how it turned out.. I getting ready to start in on the 66 I bought of you. its going to be lowed maybe 4 to 6 inches. put in 283 with 3 speed on the column, it will probaply take a little while money premitting.

Sounds cool.. I know what you mean about money... and time....
That '65 has taken a few steps back. The 350 took a crap. Got water in the oil...not sure if from an intake or head gasket or a crack in the block or head. Anyhow, water got in the oil, it started knocking real bad. Probably spun a bearing. Long story short, I have to get it somewhere to get the 283 back in it... It's been heartbreaking to say the least...
