Sweet build. I love the door/ top rail treatment, windshield, and of course the stance.

Re: Roadster Project

Thanks Chuck.
Here is a few pics of the bed rail extensions. Also, the green tape is where the fenders are gonna get cut for the tilt hood.

Re: Roadster Project

I was with you on everything until you want to cut the fender for a tilt front end. You went though all of the trouble to shave the cowl panel and weld it in,and shave everything else on the body and make it flow, then you go and make another body gap where there shouldn't be one? I'm not trying to be negative, and it is your truck, but I just don't think that mod fits with everything else that you've worked so hard on. I hope you do prove me wrong in the end if you do go forward with this, because so far this is my favorite Blazer build going on right now.

Re: Roadster Project

I know where you're coming from. I pondered this for a while. We did a mock-up on photoshop and it looked okay with the black paint and flames. Plus we're getting rid of a bunch more body lines in the fenders/hood/bumper and grille.
I dig constructive criticism, it helps. What does suck, however, is that now I'm gonna be second guessing this all day tomorrow at work. Nothing has been cut yet.

Re: Roadster Project

I have never been a fan of the forward tilt hoods. I think that you would regret it.

It's definitely coming out really nice!

Why not just do the forward tilt hood?

Re: Roadster Project

I agree with just forward tilting the hood, then if you dont like it , it's much easier to go back vs. redoing the fenders etc if you change your mind.
Great progress thus far. Looking forward to your decision..........

Re: Roadster Project

This is an awesome build. I have a question for you. Is that the factory tailgate or is it a skin? If factory, what did you do to fill the gap when welding it? Piece of sheet metal, round rod?

BTW, I agree on the not cutting fenders.

One more vote for not cutting. Tilt the hood but save the fenders.

Re: Roadster Project

im with everyone else...baddest blazer on the board BUT....the tilt front end screams 1985 to me... i might be doing some stuff to mine that other people dont like either but in the end you have to please yourself, i have said this before if we all liked them the exact same way we would never go to car shows because they would be all the same , so whatever you like is the decision you should make

Re: Roadster Project

1985...LOL.
WOW, the general consensus rules. No front tilt, we're gonna do a front "hood" tilt instead. I will post some pics when we start. It's cool, this will be a lot easier anyhow.

Re: Roadster Project

If you could figure out a way to combine the cowl into the hood for this mod, you would remove another body line and would be a unique feature.

Re: Roadster Project

Hey good idea...I will get back to ya on this. I need to go meditate on this. I need to become one with the "Roadster".
I wanted and excuse to re-do my cowl anyhow.

There's a 67-68 truck that Dean's Hot Rods or Hot Rods by Dean (not positive on the name) built that has the hood and cowl in one piece... it looks like pretty cool mod that would flow nicely with everything else.
