Re: purgatorio
Some trucks had 2 emblems like this. It looks like yours did.

Re: purgatorio
You may have an earlier hood or who knows what someone may have added.
Here's the correct emblem for a 53 http://www.classicparts.com/1953-54-...nfo/59%2D024/# |

Re: purgatorio
I believe jweb got it right..you may have a earlier than 53 hood..in 53 they only had the series number on hood ..it appears like yours had the chevrolet in that strip and 3100 where those 2 holes are..I can't tell clearly from your pic of the truck when you got it but it looks like its got turn down door handles.do you remember? You may be like a lot of us and have a mixed bag of body parts..

Re: purgatorio
He is right. When I bought this truck, I had to buy three cabs, two chassis , 2 sets of fenders, two hoods, ton of crap. The cab is 53 and so are the doors. They are lush button. The original 53 good wasn't good. I know now thanks to you guys and after some thought it's an earlier year hood. What should I tell the fab man? Fill in the holes then re drill when emblems are ready?

Re: purgatorio
Emblems would be your call..I kinda like the chevrolet with the 3100 under it myself..they can still be bought..since its already setup for that it would be the simplist..but you could change it to just the 3100 badge if you want..its just what you like best..I've even seen a few custom badges cnc made for the ad trucks just to personlize it even more..some are pretty cool play on words.

Re: purgatorio
If it were me (it's not) I would fill in the lower holes where the 3100 emblem was. Then you could use either style of the Chevrolet emblems or a custom one.

Re: purgatorio
Nice placement of the height sensor. It looks nicely protected. I need to start figuring where I will put mine.

Love this Before / After (or more specifically During). I like what you've done with it. Keep on keeping on!

Re: purgatorio
7500 for this not too shabby. Read an article it made 1091hp at 19lbs of boost. I know I would need a new drive shaft. Do you guys think tranny tunnel will have to be tinkered with? I have a bellhop sing that adapts t56 magnum to sbc. If I do it'll prolly be around couple hundred in mods. Well worth it really.
