Great progress, I'm impressed with the roof job! And load capacity at Lowe's did you weld any braces in the cab before you cut it ? I didn't notice any. Looks like it all lined up real nice. Keep it up it is looking good!

Thanks, I did not use any braces. I figured the front wouldn't move due to the fact that the fenders and every thing were bolted on. I tacked the front and the rear and then made sure the doors matched up as they should. I had to adjust a little but I did my best to cut the replacement top just like I did my cab so they would match up. And believe it or not it was perfect!!

Okay that makes sense, I didn't think about the fenders holding the firewall square. It sure looks like it lined up perfect! I will be replacing my roof eventually but not the extent of the whole rear pillar as you did, just splitting the seam at the rear top of the cab so I will weld in some braces near the top for insurance to keep it from getting all caddy wompus on me. Have to say it Again- Nice job on the roof!

Awesome bunch of boxes there! I'm extremely envious of your tower of boxes in that pic. That's all that I'm waiting on next for my build is funds to collect some suspension and brakes. Good luck on the install and remember post updates with your exciting new installs!

Man I tell you what I have really been blessed with this project. I have been given so many parts and my wife even likes it so its been easier than my last two. lol I sold a couple of guns from my gun collection to buy all the suspension and brake kit. If I hadn't done that I would be trying to piece it all together..
Oh and btw I can't wait to see more on that cummins project you're working on, I'd love to one day do a dually with that swap!

Re: Rusbuilt's 68 C-10

Thanks Rusbuilt if I had something wicked to sell at the moment I would in a heartbeat, but the last part from the cummins donor truck just went out the door so i guess im stuck waiting on the call the return to work.

Those parts must mean more now that they came from making a sacrifice like that rather than just a cash buy, they are definitely well deserved. I imagine I wont be making much progress until fall/early winter now. A dually conversion would be sweet, the only gmc cummins swap I seen close up in real life was a friend Denny's truck(bought from Ryan Bambach) : '89 gmc crew cab dually with a BAD ARSE 12valve in it. Denny now swapped the 12valve and put this engine in his drag truck, he daily drives this dually around. The hood stack is awesome riding shotgun, If I find a link ill post his truck. I hope this gives your some inspiration to one day build a dually converted chev/gmc maybe just not this intense lol
