Re: New member with barn find
It's been so nice out I had to take the top off, I've been waiting to drive it topless ever since I bought it.

Re: New member with barn find
That looks fantastic John. I hope it came off smoothly without any trauma to those beautiful and fresh finishes....Don't forget, still looking forward to a pic towing the Chevelle.

Re: New member with barn find
Thanks Brad, It was stressful removing the top for the first time. I slid some towels in between the top and quarters then set the top on some 4x4 blocks. I have a warn x9000 from my old jeep up in the attic of the garage, I just passed the cable thru the ceiling.
Someday I'd like to tow the chevelle, that's what I set it up to do.

Re: New member with barn find
Got my A/C working, I was relieved when the cold air started coming out of the vents. I didn't think it work again, also went to the local cruise night and met a couple other blazer owners. We were able to get them parked side by side.

Re: New member with barn find
Finally got a soft top, I made it all last summer topless and got rained on one time. Luckily I had an umbrella with me and I wasn't too far from home and yes I drove with an umbrella up. I was worried about the door glass fitment after reading about others having problems but everything fits very well. I don't like the idea of sticking Velcro on the tailgate so I'm looking for some magnetic rod. So far I found 1/8" by 1" rod from home depot, I could join them together. Looks like I can make a small slit in the Velcro on the soft top and slide in the magnetic rod in-between the top and Velcro. I'll keep ya posted on how it works.

Re: New member with barn find
If anyone is going to the Wildwood NJ Boardwalk car show tomorrow look me up. I drove the blazer down to a friend's house in wildwood today. The blazer did great doing 70 to 75 with traffic at around 2400rpm with the top down. I'll post some pics of the show.

Re: New member with barn find
Definitely take pics. Mine is almost always the only first gen at car shows I've been to. Even in the parking lot and not in the shows it draws a crowd. Lol. I don't like to take my truck Over 55. 4.10 gears I Put in aren't that great for highway. I should have left it 3.73 gears but you live and learn.

Re: New member with barn find
Sure is nice, pricey too but not really when compared to a new truck and it basically is new but with more style.
Mudman.

Re: New member with barn find
I hope John made out well on it. There was a lot of work put into this rig.
At the price these guys have on it you would think that you would at least get matching window cranks.

Re: New member with barn find
HI guys, looks like there looking for the guy that's gotta have it but that's ok, can't hurt to try. I got more than half that so I'm happy. It's also been seen on snap chat, something like the history of the blazer.
