Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
thats makes sense.. how did you go about cutting, molding and fitting?? was it a cheap job? did you modify the plugs? i like the look of your whole retrofit you made. and thanks for the info.. thats probably why they were so cheap..

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
did some work at my buddys place (thanks Michiel)
took the dash of gotta clean this up some time. but not now. ahhhh... that is why my ventilation is not as wel as it could be common problem, broken clip that holds the door. now it will never fully close and always let 20-25% warm air in, even when in AC mode. is there an easy fix for this? or only by new clip? another common known problem is the defrost channels not being connected like in this photo. another pic ducttape fix... I am also adding a extra 10 fuse accesoiry panel and a new ground-bar, just didnt take any pics of that yet. we went tunnel cruisin on christmass eve. has sort of become a tradition. first we drive though a Den Ilp...an area with lots of nice houses and lots of christmass lights and then we hit the tunnels as loud as we can...talka bout nice contrast. here are some pics pics of the tunnel cruise and heres a youtube playlist of all the movies I took. enjoy

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
gotta love tunnel rumble
neat, havn't seen that kind me,just a screw in tube with a gauge that first line on one "low" is that a test/starting point? i'd try cold and hot if one stays inconsistant to the others, check it for fouling

I have spent about half a year on researching all kinds of leds for my led tail light project.
recently finished it and here is the result. I ended up using real Philips Lumileds HPWT orange/red. tested several board designs: and ended up using this: circuit o the back: in tail light they are BRIGHT AS HELL here is the playlist on Youtube to the LED tail lights http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...kjVr5Ml8yjt4sN I love them...

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
In regards to the clip on your heater door question. I just did my heater core and came across the same problem. I made a little "L" shaped bracket.i attached it to the side of the plastic bit and the door with industrial strength epoxy. You could screw or rivet to the door as well. Works like a charm! Drill a hole and place the bracket on the head side of the pin.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
I home made them myself, because I didnt like the LMC versions and the Dakota Digital version ROCK, but cost $250,-
I have had a lot of requests and I am looking into maybe making a small batch, but first want to see how these hold up... I would have to design a circuitboard and have those printed in a small batch. That would save me a lot of time.

Well if you choose to do that put me in line!!! I would love a pair and would be willing to pay. Like you i think the dakota digital ones are a bit overpriced. Or if you choose to do a how to writeup or video that would be awesome. Thanks, Mike.

Headliner looks good, did you add an extra support above the drivers seats? I was just thinking about that to avoid issues down the road.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
yes I got it with the headliner and still had my own. I also bought two aluminium strips for extra support. The are 2m long and 30mm wide and 2mm thick. I will add pictures later when I have added them. These ceilings are big in the Suburbans and these old headliners needs extra suport.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado - "Silvester"
big update.
had the underside of the car treated with Fluid Film three years ago, but the guy did a horrible job. I just redid the wells myself. look at the rust. covered the wheel: final result : 2 coats of ACTION stop rust (dutch product) 1 thick coat of Rustoleum (Combi Color is the Dutch version) 1 thick coat of Brantho Korrux also painted the core support with some paint I had left over from the wheel wells. then I wanted to swap the weatherstrips of the cargodoors, but saw the rear cargo floor was all wet so stripped it all out bubbles? bubbles everywhere? is this rust? so sanded it and checked what was undeneath thank god no rust, just bubbles in the paint. nice thick coat of Rustoleum painted the side of the doors and put the new weatherstrips on. @#$@#%$W#R# and yes, doors wont close anymore with new strips...took a lot of adjusting the door hinges but now its pretty fine and have to push a little to close them ordered 10 m2 of Alubutyl in Germany http://www.alubutyl-24.de/pages/bake...lerpreis-6.php and applied it to the floor. then started looking for a affordable rubber flor for the dogs found it at a local place in The Hague http://www.haaglanden-rubber.nl/ http://www.haaglanden-rubber.nl/asso...loper_b12.html cut it to shape with the wheel wells et voila, a nice rubber floor. car started wors and wors recently and seemed like either bad batterys of alternator. had the batteries checked and they both were bad. took two out and placed only one back. I dont need the accesoiry battery since I dont haul trailers. had to do some rewiring. but still had a bad loading voltage. did some readin and research and seemed like my field connection wasnt connected. The qire was on the alt, but stopped behind the dash. I remebered I had insulated a hard brown wire under the dash three years ago, because I didnt know what it was for. seems this is the resistance wire for the alternator. reconnected it and the charge voltage is back to allmost 14V now. was a mess in the front of the car during my search for the charge problem, hahaha had the shortblock I got this summer bored to 4.030 and honed. and picked it up again [img][/img] nice and clean, ready to be rebuild finaly had some time to pick out some parts for the rebuild. hope they get here soon. deciced to go with the CompCams XE250H cam they told me to get...
