Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
It's coming along pretty nice! Can't wait to see the finished product
BTW, the power burb doors are cool to have. I swapped a set on my '78 K10 I see in a few pics you have the newer style mirrors, you gonna keep them or swap 'em out in favor for the older style mirrors?

I ended up swapping over all the power to my doors. For waht ever reason the burb doors fit like crap. On the mirriors i decided to use the newer mirrors and moving them foward on the door. They block the vent window but they look alot better. I will post a pic of one that i had mocked up. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Here's some pics of the mirror moved up on the door. I got the idea from another thread on here. I don't like the way these mirrors look in the stock location but i think they look good here and i still have power mirrors.
What do yall think? |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
For 'big' mirrors, I like them. I still prefer the small 'sport' mirrors & wish they could be useful w/a big truck.

Wow, that gives me an idea for my Burb doors! The mirrors look better farther up than stock...

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Not much progress lately, too much going on.
I did get one door in primer and i picked up a pretty nice set of burb seats and console. I also picked up a intermittent wiper switch. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Were those seats off of a Dallas area Craigslist ad? I saw some on there & was going to post-up a link in case someone was looking for some buckets/ console set-up.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
The big brown truck dropped off a couple of boxes of trim for the cab & bed last night.
I have one more door about ready for primer. This weekend i am going to bring the truck to the shop here at work and start stripping the cab. I would like for the cab to be the next thing painted. More pics later. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
I got my wheels back from the powder coater today. They were suppose to be coated silver, but they came out with a little bit of a gold tint to them. It almost matches the color of the two tone.
I don't normally like wheels hat are body color, but these i think are going to look good. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Thanks Ryan.
Today the plan is to get the roof stripped. The paint and primer on the roof is so hard i can't strip it without warping the roof. So i get to use a aircraft stripper, oh boy what fun. I also stuck one of the front wheels on it to see what it's going to look like. The tire is 235/75/16. Now i think it's going to need some dropped spindles, but i am going to wait till it's all togther to make the final call. I am also going to try and get around to putting the bed on, just to get a look. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Killer build sofar, I love that your going with two tone. Have you decided where you are getting your body moulding from yet? I priced out NOS and its pretty expensive. Aftermarket is abit more than 4 bills for ccswb. I am just not sure who has the best yet.

I got it from lmc. It was about 380.00 for everything but the tailgate.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Are they close to the originals, chromed steal, stainless or aluminum?

I haven't unwrapped them yet but I am guessing they are aluminum. I will check and see.
