Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!

I think you will like the LT1. The one in my '79 sure ran good. Good power, EFI, OD trans, definitely the way to go.

The arrival blue is the same color that is on the Escalades as well.

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!

back in march i saw you talking about suiciding the rear doors and i thought the idea was cool as well as swapping handles side to side.

Has anyone ever used the stock handles but behind the thumb button but fab a little 12v switch so that it would pop the door? Would keep the stock handle look but since you cant use the stock linkage keep it working as well. just a though.

Thanks i still think it would be a cool idea and it may happen yet just not right now. As far as the switch behind the button i think that would be a great idea!

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!

Ok here is some pics after i cleanded up the wiring a little, i still have to put inner fenders in it which is why the computer is wire tied out of the way. I Have been driving it since monday and it is doing awesome, i dont know if my mileage is any better as of right now as i cant seem to keep my foot out of it. I am going to be putting two electric fans on tonight and doing some other little stuff to it. As the exhaust goes it is 2 1/2in with an h-pipe and 40 series thrush mufflers, i had him dump the exhaust on each side of the tag and it sounds great.

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!

Well the crew cab is down again. I was getting it ready to go on a trip the past week and Thursday it started running like crap. Misfiring, popping and banging out the exhaust. It will run fine in park reving it but as soon as you put a load on it it wont run to save its life. I am crossing my fingers that its not the opti-spark. Any ideas?

How do the thrush mufflers sound? Are they comparable to flowmasters or what?

The thrush 40 series sound identical to 40 series flowmasters but are about half the price! I was impressed

Well i have an update. After a week and a half of investigating turns out all that was wrong with the truck was water in the gas tank. Go figure. Easy fix so im happy

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!

Ya it sucks big time. I put a new evaporator and dryer on it along with new lines when we did the motor swap guess i should of replaced the compressor while i was there. It is supposed to got to the body shop this coming up thursday to get jammed inside, the doors under the hood and firewall and we are going to put the outside in sealer just t get it through the winter then paint it in the spring.
