Huge progress, I need your troop on my truck, mine's taking forever...and I'm just swapping motors. Love the tubs and tin...mini blower is cool, but I like the duals...unless you want the extra 100 or so ponys. Great progress.

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Well i guess the next challenges will be.....finding some junker wheels that are 33" tall for the rear and a set for up front. I just had all the wheels polished and new rubber put on and i know how the body shop rolls.....lol. I don't want all of that covered in primer and over spray. Then i guess I have to figure out how to block it up to ride height with out all the air ride in....
But here is a real big question for all of you, I was thinking originally of going a dark green with a pearl white. Then I was thinking that factory color the cab was in and in a satin, not a patina but in a satin. So i have to decide satin.....or gloss ? I think i am chicken to paint it in satin incase I don't like it and have to redo it. It's going to be painted in pieces and put together and then painted again, so it would be huge to change it. well any ideas?

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Guess I'll weigh in, I happen to love the sheen of satin, but make sure you use a satin clear as you'll start polishing the finish every time you rub it. The Harley guys use a product called Ace-It to detail the satin parts of their bikes and keep it from shining. Also applying the paint is quite difficult, as any flaws need a complete respray as the satin shows differently sheen wise when spotted. You can't sand and respray or polish a mark out. So I hear, no experience yet, just gathering info.
Color is very difficult, Dino is probably staying that light blue green color, but your at paint first. I really like that color on our trucks its very bright and shows the lines well. But you have two blue/whites already and a dark green would be great contrast for your collection. Good luck, it will look great no matter whick way you go. |

Well those are good questions.....I haven't decided yet if the booster is going under the floor or on the firewall just yet....The problem is that if i put the booster under the truck...all of my big exhaust runs there and with the truck aired down a 1" off the ground there isn't much room. But wildwood makes a pedal master cylinder combo that could all fit inside the truck and up under the dash and i really don't need a booster with 4 wheels disk brakes.......So that i have to think about yet.The steering is going through the firewall and is a polished flamming river set up.....the gas pedal is a built in set up thats a easy fix.
