Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Body mounts will probably raise it 3/4" or so.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
I figure there is a happy medium between layin the frame, wheel size, and pinch weld removal. I will be Zen when these three things come together. The mounts are not really gonna raise it that much because I stuffed in the old mounts in. So I may be looking at an 1/8th to a 1/4 difference from the pics. But I see you slept at a Best Western last night!!

One of the rubber mounts is ripped in two, so I have to allow for that. Have you already got your mounting kit?

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Yeah body drop kit is in, still have to buy the cushions. I'm missing a few items but Travis is working on it. Having flooring put in the house this week so no truck work will happen during my week off at home, but that's ok since the wife is happy.

Thanks Mike! Plenty to do this weekend so I should have a few more pics next week.
Absolutely! Body is coming back off at the end of the weekend most likely and welding up that crossmember!

Thanks man! It's a ghost town over here in the Blazer area, that's too bad cause there is some nice stuff happening over here. That insurance will be on point when this Blazer hits the roads!!!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
I am steadily making progress each week! The pics do not show much progress, but it actually was a lot of progress. Only had a day and a half to get this all done so I was happy. These pics are all that I took, but I did spray both sides of the tub with rattle can primer. I hope to have an announcement about the project soon.....so stay tuned!!!
Paint is gone off the dash. I fabbed up a filler panel and filled in the windshield pillar, still gotta weld in the other side. Made some fillers for the taillights as well. Bare metal shows all, found a patch at the front of the tub on both sides and the quarter panel on the driver side will need to be replaced. There was a gallon of bondo on that quarter panel!!!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
A nice HOT Texas weekend has passed and it didn't stop me from playin in the shop! I am at the stage of determining which way to go on my project and I have made a few decisions, now to draw it out on paper and plan some of the details. Progress was good, doesn't look like much but these things take time as we all know. And now the announcement, I had a phone conversation with a powder-coating company and tonight we will have a meeting at the shop so they can look at the project, they are looking to sponsor the powder-coating of the frame and suspension. I hope we come to a happy agreement that is best for both of us!!! Now for some pics!!!
I got the bottom of the posts cleaned up and rattled some primer on em. Took the next step and closed the hole at the top and drilled my holes for the turn signal lights..........yes turn signal lights!! This is a mock-up of what I am looking to do with the dash, old Corvette style humps and deleting the defrost vents. Cleaned up the shop and the inside of the truck so I can get started with console and c-notch cover mock up.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
And a few more pics for good measure. I put another piece of wood under each wheel. Those pinch welds are absolutely gonna have to go!!! Until next time, post comments and questions! I love feedback........if it's good!!

Thank you! Yeah, always wanted a Pro Performer when I was a kid. Had to get one. It is completely original, even the tires, pedals and brake pads.
