Re: 60-66's in the movies

Very cool stuff!! They're were plenty of year/make/model errors, but I'm sure thats how they were entered into the website. 60's called 61's, pre-62's and busses called C-10's, GMC's called Chevy's... Call me picky, but it's just one of my "peeves"....

Nice posting 1bad!! I'm not blaming you...

Re: 60-66's in the movies

In the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds” there are three Chevy trucks when Tippi Hedren’s character arrives in town in the Aston Martin DB2. The first is a rear projection of what appears to be a two tone (maybe red and white) 1960 or 1961 in the upper left corner of the shot:

A few minutes later on her way to renting the boat, there is a nearly new 1961 short stepside (with no license plate) in the foreground, and a dark colored fleetside behind it.

Re: 60-66's in the movies

In the 1964 sci-fi flick “The Creeping Terror”, just a few minutes into the movie there’s a 1962 long bed fleetside that is suppose to belong to the first victim of the carpet monster:

The movie was filmed so poorly it almost looks like a Kinescope:

Re: 60-66's in the movies

In my never ending quest to find more movies shot on the Courthouse Square Universal set for my diorama project, I finally remembered a scene from the 1977 film “The Car”. Right before the Sheriff is run over, there’s a 64-66 two tone fleetside prominently shown.

Although the exterior building decorations had been continuously updated, the structures remained essentially unchanged since the late 1940’s. The truck is right next to where John Agar and Mara Corday shared a park bench in Tarantula (1955), and is just forward of where Marty caught the wire in Back to the Future (1985).
