Great '67 !! Thanks for posting !! Maybe someone transfer the pics to this thread for future view after the listing ends.

Note the body colored wheels. I came across a very nice low mile '67 with the Custom Cab and Custom Exterior options a few years back in Vermillion Red that also had body colored wheels. Original paint truck and the wheels certainly looked virgin too. Anyone else have experience with factory body color wheels??

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Most '67 Chevy 2wds with white roofs came with body colored wheels, a carryover rule from '66. The SPID lists the paint color as SPECIAL. This one almsot has me fooled into thinking these are publicity photos taken in '67.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

What a great ‘67!

Are we thinking the exterior paint is a special color? Or does something else about this paint job make it “special”?

Interesting that it has a Powell motors sticker on the tailgate and a Langenfeld Mtrs oil change record holder on the dash. I do like little details like that.

The photo is a time capsule, but who knows where the vehicles are today?

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

I love this photo. The trucks are so colorful unlike today. It is sad that vehicles today are so colorless. It must be a reflection of the psyche of the nation.

Southern Pacific, probably new trucks coming out of Fremont. Great shot, thanks for posting.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

In earlier threads, the discussion of hubcaps on 4x4's came up. I believe data books showed they came on higher trim vehicles and were deleted on base models. The first bottom blue GMC appears to be a 3/4 ton and a 4x4 and a base model and has painted hubcaps? Hmmm, lot of 4x4's in that load, must be headed North!

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Must be a publicity shot. Vehicles were not shipped with wheel covers, hub caps or fender skirts installed because they disappeared quickly.

I was also checking out the caps on that blue GMC. I noticed it doesn’t have lockout hubs on it, and it has closed hub caps on front. Lockout hubs were an option, so maybe closed caps were on the front if lockouts were not ordered? Very interesting......

I see you're a premium member. I think your best bet is to go to the parts board and post a "want to buy" ad. They are out there.

The train and the haulaway photo are not publicity shots, however, I have seen later 70's photos of new trucks shipped without wheel covers.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Love this thread, thought I'd light it back up with a couple of '69 trucks that I'd hoarded as reference trucks. Got a bunch of pics, but here are a few of both. Both low mileage originals, the first a Longhorn CST30, that I know has been on here somewhere before (can't remember where I found it). The second a CST10 with a 307 that might have popped up on the Craigslist Finds thread.
