Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Thanks everyone.
Its taking longer than I estimated to complete the final sheetmetal work.Almost ready to haul it home and get busy on it.I miss having it in the garage,,,even if I just sit in it and pretend.

Glad to hear things are getting better for you health wise. Wasn't aware of any problems. Keep us updated on that, and the trucks progress.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Progress.

Down to the final prep. Color change: JSB was nothing like it looked from the photos. My painter and the PPG rep. found a sick 4ss blue that has almost no flop.

This is the blue that is being sprayed. Also a 3 stage PPG.
Base-Violet metallic
2nd stage-Blue tinted clear

W/the 3rd stage clear,finish looks like this.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

I was thinking of blue also, but change my mind to dark metallic grey Swede, and gloss red 2 tone. I really want red interior, and not sure how that would look with your blue. I think it will look good, but no body else thinks so. What color interior are choosing? Your truck is going to look awesome.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Thanks Dennis,
I like to keep the interior colors easy on the eyes. I am doing a lite machine gray w/scuffed aluminum accents. Everybody has their own taste. I think interior colors always look good in earth or neutral tones.
I like your metallic gray suede idea.

It was my sons idea. He said Swede black is out. Everybody is doing it. But I still want the shinny Torch Red with it as a 2 tone upper cab, and black & white Dutch style stripping. I'm with you on the earth tones though. I like them too, but I like red interior even more. If I went with a yellow truck I had a dark saddle leather like picked out.
