Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
Cool! You gonna have them machine the heads if that's the issue or change them out? I have a line on some Edelbrock Etechs with the matching intake for cheap and some World products heads as well.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
IF it can be fixed on the cheap, great. I saved the $ up for a new engine if I need it. If not, maybe something shiny on all four corners instead.
I just called the shop to come and pick it up. End of month inspections have them swamped. I think it will be early next week for any results. |

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
OMG, look at how long it's been since I've done anything to this heap. Your calling me out on this eh Jonathan.
Well, the $$$ I saved up, it's gone. I'm starting over. I'm determined to get this done before spring is over. |

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
Well I was supposed to get going on this project last week, but makin money got in the way. SOOO, If I can get a start on it this weekend, maybe I'll actually get something done here soon. I want to get it running first, then seal tank amongst many other small issues to take care of.

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
Well it's about time...IT RUNS, and very well. It only took me a couple of years to fix the motor lol...What a beast. Still have no idea of what the problem was, but it would appear to be in the old heads. I'm going to have the old heads flow tested because I want to know what happened. I suspect it sucked a guide. Just a guess though. Anyhow, back together, painted and finally running. Here are some pics I hope...

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
Sweet!
I knew you would get it. Glad to see you back here posting again. Now you have to take your super nice blazer some where and show it off. Any carshows coming up in your area? How close are you to Charlotte, NC? The Goodguys show will be in town at the end of October. http://www.southeasternnats.com/

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
Thanks FB72...
Almost done with it. Got a/c working. That's cool Ha ha...2 things left to do before I can unleash it on the street, fix fuel gauge, and figure out what I'm gonna do about the exhaust. I really don't want side exit, and the funds are running short for over the axle. I think I am going to move the muffs forward a few inches, stick my turn downs on and let it go till I get the funds for the over the axle tail pipes. I guess I just figured out what I'm gonna do. |

Sound like a good idea on the exhaust. Maybe turn the turndowns 45 degrees to the side so it won't kick up as much dust....

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
O.K. Haven"t driven this thing more than 2miles in the past 4-5 years...I'm taking it home now, about 30mi drive, 96 degrees with the a/c blasting should do it. Fingers crossed...
Still have the fuel gauge to fix, but that's about it...Other than tinker around, that never ends. |

Re: Project "Vertically Challenged"
maybe a shot in the dark, but some later model heads have to have ""self aligning"" rocker arms
