Re: my 86 Backhalf'd SWB c10
here are some progress pictures of the cab.. the rest of the interior portion of the cab and the fire wall should be painted by this weekend! reason he is painting it in sections is so that the floor will not have all sorts of over spray from spraying the top of the interior of the cab..
you can see where i shaved the seams where the b post meets the interior roof skin of the cab since some of it can be seen after the carpet is in. smoothed all the spot weld in the door jams that wouldn't be covered by the weather stripping and also smoothed the cab seams up! They look nice. You gonna paint the engine pieces at all to match the truck?

Re: my 86 Backhalf'd SWB c10
I think i am going to make a engine cover/intake setup and cover most of the motor. I do have some nice valve cover but they have flames on them BUT i think i want something a little cleaner.. so ill have to sell them and probably and do valve covers body color along with the engine cover..

I would hate to put carpet over that floor board. Looks really good.

Dennis ran some of the prebend brake lines
here is a picture he took with it laid out! Last edited by draggin86; 12-13-2010 at 05:24 PM. |

Re: my 86 Backhalf'd SWB c10
Are those Stainless brake lines? When I went over and checked his truck out he was telling me about running your lines. I was telling him about getting brake line in a 30ft roll and custom making them out of one line, instead in having a bunch of unions, especially when running to the back brakes. Makes it a lil easier to run where you want, and eliminates the chance of leaks throughout the frame rail where unions are. I thought It also might be easier to lay out with your air lines too.

Re: my 86 Backhalf'd SWB c10
I have a solution for your floor, dont do carpet. Just get some small rubber mats and wear slippers when you drive!
