Re: my 65 fleetside build

just wanted to thank everyone for thier support through this very trying time,my sister passed away sunday evening, just a little bit about her. she was a organ donor and as of now her liver and kidneys have already helped someone and she would have liked that, she started a food ministry at her church and was always helping someone she will be missed by alot of people. she left behind two girls and her husband of 33 years, so please keep them in your prayers. here is a picture of her, she was a very beautiful lady, and not just on the outside.

WOW, your cab looks really good! Yours is in a lot better shape than mine was in when I started. You will be painting that thing in no time and be ready for the charlotte auto fair. I like your cab lift, I may have to make me one of those. Great job, keep it up.

Re: my 65 fleetside build

flip the cab is coming along very nicely, i thought of doing the same with the seams, filling them in for a smooth look! i got a question for you too! are you using body filler over the epoxy or the other way around?? i've heard you can epoxy then use filler as long as its in the 7 day flush time! just wondering i'm thinking of buying a compressor this summer to paint my truck myself and to make some of this work go a lil faster!!

I had to make a 3x3 patch for the bottom backside of the cab where the cab corner wasnt big enough. I got that welded in and finish. I hope im done with the metal work now, Just got to get the bodywork done now. Wish you were closer so we could knock that out in a few hours. Great Job and loving all the pics!!
i did completely smooth the rockers,i was going to just seam seal them but things keep snowballing. thanks for the compliments but pictures can be decieving. your cab on the other hand is coming along great, and it would be nice to have someone close that was interested in these old trucks so we could help each other.

thanks chad, i am spraying the epoxy and then filler on top, i have found sherwin williams makes epoxy in a spray can so when you sand through it you can touch it up, havent heard about the seven day flash time though.

installed door today to check gaps where the drip rails came off, i think they will be ok, i mean after all its no show truck. the paint i came from our local parts store, but it is a sherwin williams product so it should be easy to find.

Re: my 65 fleetside build

Oh Yeah, Those gaps dont look bad at all. I think im going to take my bad one off first and see how mine looks. Bad thing is I just flipped my cab back over today to put seam sealer in and do final blocking of the roof and final paint on the bottom of the cab. Are you going to paint your cab before you put it back on the frame??

i more than likely paint the bottom and firewall off the frame then the rest on the frame i would like to have the doors hung for good before i paint the outside, less scratches i hope.
