Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Jacked up the front end for a good shake down. Felt a little slack in the wheel bearing on drivers side. Pulled it down, repacked and tightened up. Good to go. Did a rotate on tires. Polished the wheels (sore finger tips). Fixed the annoying donut gasket exhaust tick! Changed fuel filter. Greased up the front end. Then I went and played in the garden.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Put in a new fuel pump.
What a PITA. If not for my engine hoist and the knowledge I get from this site I could have never done it alone. Kim |

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
yesterday i put my truck on a lift to see what was causeing all the bangs as id hit the smallest of bumps.. found that my power steering gear box was hanging on by one bolt that was only half way in... so today was spent changing that out. pet boys sells one for 69-74 c10's.. matches the one that was on it.. that was a relief.. and that's what ill be dialing in tomorrow

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
yesterday I picked up a gm 10 bolt front solid axle for it, 52 inch rear springs, spare calipers, spindle, some rear backing plates and drums, complete set of u bolts and plates front and rear, drag link and sway bar plus other misc. spare parts.
Most of it's for my SAS sometime in the future years lol the rest like the drums are just spares for myself or whoever might need them. oh yea also got a crossmember front driveshaft and some hangers with shackles.

New intake manifold and tbi spacer last week. Clay barred it, waxed, and polished the wheels over the weekend.

Replaced bench seat
With bucket seats from a pick-n-pull '94 Bonneville using the FAQ thread instructions located here. The instructions were spot on and much appreciated! Had a make a second trip to the wrecking yard after taking out my old bench as one of the adjuster slide rails was cracked in half. Took an '89 apart to find it broken in the same place but found a good one on a '93. Sure is comfortable but I'm not sure about the color mix in the cab although the wife says it works and what do I know...figured I can always dye it

Looks good!
I'm trying to change my thermostat, but I'm fighting with a stuck bolt on the housing...

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
well, kind of a cumulative thing over the past few weeks. Heres the list. new tires (Durun zr-1) on new to me Cobra 20's. full trans flush, tcase flush, front and rear diff cleaning, new axel bearings, O2 sensors, halo projector lights (work amazing) rear view camera, head gasket, intake gasket, (deep breath) true duals stainless with no muffler 2.25 all the way back. broke my windshield the other day on a road trip, and the truck is beginning to throw all sorts of random codes, but thats for another day.

pulled the engine out of my 97 ecsb Z71, got to strip it down, and get my other block from the shop and get it put back together in the next couple weeks and hopefully get it on the road.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Been getting my 1994 Chev ECSB 2WD ready for the race car towing season. In the last week or so it got a new center bearing on the driveshaft, a new idler arm, new fuel lines, new body mount welded in, one headlight bulb, two new 235/75/15 Wranglers on the front and a front end alignment. Except for the front end alignment it was all done here at home in a gravel driveway between periods of rain.
Here's the pattern I used to rebuild the body mounts on my truck. Fits up inside the mount from underneath and welds to the frame and the inner turned down edge of the frame bracket. I've used this pattern three times now and other than a little grinding here and there it's been a perfect fit every time. Save it, resize it to 6 3/8" tall, print it on heavy paper. Take the bottom part of the mount off, put a 2" piece of pipe on the floor jack or any pipe bigger than the center hole, put the patch on it, jack it into place and weld away. Most of the welding is done far enough away from that upper rubber to not hurt it at all. Just do short welds and move around a bit on the outer part where it's close to the rubber. Sure beats trying to patch it from the top and you don't have to remove the upper rubber(and we all know how hard those are to get in place)

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Still hauling the race car all over Nova Scotia with 350,000kms on the clock. Did over 1000kms(625 miles) last weekend and ran into some pretty heavy rain and big hills and the old girl just keeps on ticking(literally)
