Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
I picked up some stainless allen head button screws and some clips at the hardware store. The plastic piece cleaned up nice with some simple green. I'm not going to be able to use the stock 70 filler tube. Its all messed up where something has hit it. I tried to straighten it out but no dice, the lid won't screw on right. I'll have to use a different one and do some cutting and brazing. I took a pic to show the differece between the 1 piece 72 filler tube and the 70 2 piece filler tube. I'll also toss in a pic of the other garage project, replacing the pto clutch, main clutch and the throw out bearing in a Leyland 270 tractor. This is what one looks like taken apart in the middle.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Been a long day.... I finished the filler. For now, lol... I think I may be about an inch low with the tube as it goes under the bed. The only problem I can think of it causing is holding gas. I guess I'll find out, lol... If anyone can think of a reason it might cause an issue, post up and I'll probably go ahead and shorten it. I took the stock filler and cut off the mount. Then made up some tabs and welded them to it. Drilled some holes, slipped on the clips and bolted it up. Instead of using the inbetween rubber hose I welded the two sections together.. I figure a couple less clamps is the way to go. I also painted 2 tractors today, outside in the wind, that was fun..... One was apart and the other was together. They turned out nice for the conditions I had to deal with. I picked up a Sata RP 2000 gun, worked great... I can't wait to shoot some paint in a booth, or at least in the garage, lol....

Nope... The fuel filler did, lol..... I was drilling the holes to bolt it up, I didn't have a good grip on it and around and around it went... Caught my hand and my shirt. Cut my hand, didn't hurt the shirt, fruit of da loom cotton T's, can't beat'em .

Great looking tires. As I'm sure you know, rotate those tires religiously!

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Definitely, all mud tires, lol... I had a set of 32 11.50's on my Dodge and at 30,000 miles they still had almost half tread. They wore great. I can't wait to put some miles on these... For a little bit I'd put it together and drive it the way it is for the summer.
