If you only new.... I've had a lot of small issues, some self inflicted some Mother Nature... It's coming togather though. Thanks man!

Doors are off getting sanded now so I can prime and repaint them. Had some odd lifting issues! No big deal just instead of being close to done, I have about 10 more hours of labor.

Thank you very much.
I have to polish the fenders and they will be ready to go. That means the front clip will be done! Cab/doors are the only thing left...

Troy, whew, off for a few days. Yeah, I can come pick up some stuff to get it out of your way, settle up and all. Not sure which day, though. Any preferences on your end?

Troy, hope your not coming down with the bug of the day. Take it easy and go to the shows. I've been dragging my feet just a little because of it. Don't want to be typhoid Dave, you know. I can fit your schedule easily.

Re: Big Red Dog

Well as one can see, I can cause it to hail!

Fortunately, it only lasted a short while. Long enough to ding a few outside cars. While it was raining, Troy and I screw up palates for the fenders, inner and outer. I wrapped the nose in moving blankets and hauled that much away. I'll be back in a couple of weeks when Troy finishes buffing out the cab, doors and corners. Those will be assembled for transport. Before I left we screwed up about 75% of the cab palate.

This phase of the build is coming to a close so I'll comment on the experience.
1. Troy is very talented. I let him use his experience and only interjected my desires on the outcome.
2. The whole project was exciting and I made a new friend in the process.
3. I now have sheet metal for the rest of the project that has no rust cancer, bondo and as little body filler as could be achieved.
4. Troy and I settled up and I told him that I was a very happy camper! I think/hope he is too.

I am going to revive the rest of the project in another thread (Big Red Dog will be in the title) so that Troy can use this thread in his signature without confusing the reader with my wrenching journal. I'll be sure to link it to this project.

If I were to do this again I would absolutely use Troy.

Dave.

Re: Big Red Dog

Troy's not with kidding 'bout Kansas weather. The only event that happened was the parts arrived with dried rain spots and road dirt in cracks and crevices. But this is a farm truck DD rebuild. No mission creap.

Good to see you have the Big Red Dog on your sig, Troy. I'd promise to send pics and links of the finish but you'd be ready to retire by then.

You guys see the reflections in the cab/door? It looks better in person.

Dave.
