Well I drove the truck today with the new engine and transmission. The l33 has 130000 miles.I had the heads milled .036 and had the valves redone. I put a free lq9 cam in along with ls3 valve springs. With high 10 ish compression this engine runs! It's feels so peppy and strong yet is mostly stock. it will roast the tires now when I down shift frI'm 3rd to second. Sounds awesome with the new headers and high compression engine.

So how did you swap and use a 80's power steering pump... My 6.0 did not come with ps pump and the 80's is muck easier to find...

Sounds good. On the starter you used the 68 starter wire or off the computer, and what did you do with the hot distributer wire?

I used the orginal starter wire. The pcm just gets iGnition ,constant and ground and it's go to go.

The hot (switched) distributor wire makes a good point for your switched side of your new harness

I'm waiting on my 5.3 to come in. Is the accelerator drive by wire or is it cable operated? How much are you asking for your harnesses? The engine I'm getting is complete, but I'd imagine your harness is more tailored to our trucks.

You are better off with a truck intake than the ls2 unless you are just doing it for looks. The truck intake makes more tq and hp than the ls2 intake. An ls6 or FAST would be the only upgrades worth doing to it as far as intakes go. On my GTO I picked up 30hp and 37lbft tq going from the ls2 intake to a 90mm Fast intake.

Two questions as I will be doing this to my 68 soon, It appears you hooked your 4l60e to the standard column shift, how did you do that. Next question is what headers did you use, they look like doug thorleys and how did they fit?

The LS3 fits better then the truck manifolds with more room. US shift has linkage for any type transmission to your column and excellent people to answer questions if confused.

Very nice bro. I just got a 03 lq4 and I'm going to get back on my project after 3 yrs. Do you have any more details on how you made the stock pump work on the fuel tank? You are able to run the 6 pin throttle body?
