Re: Mike's 50
Joedoh,
No way I was going to do it after putting doors on again. If they never came off that is one thing. That is why I brought them home. I dont have heat in the shops. Has been cool here. Will take back this week and fit the door and see how the weatherstrip affects the door.

Re: Mike's 50
Well I put in a little time down at the shop. Mounted the passenger door. needs some adjustment, it does close and latch though.
Mounted the drivers mirror, I had already made up a lower radiator hose. I used vibrant performance products. I started mounting the engine wiring harness and also drilled a hole in firewall recess to run throttle pedal, OBDII connector and ignition switch power for ECM. also shortened the drivers side O2 sensor wiring harness to clean up the harness install. I still need to shorten the passenger side O2 sensor wiring. Need to run the B+ wire from alternator again. Last thing I did was final trim and install an fitting on fuel supply to fuel rail, no picture of that. I also brought the driver door home to install seal and other parts. I bought another door seal. Also go the stainless lower door weather strip retainer, got a throttle and choke cable. I'm going to install in dash for the Original look and may try to incorporate a switch or something to make then functional for something, wipers, dash dimmer switch?

Re: Mike's 50
I still have a bunch of work to the door, need to final trim and install window channel felt, doesn't fit well but hope to make it better with some adjustment.
Anyone used autocity classic glass?

Re: Mike's 50
Well i think I'm going to head down to the shop today and play with the truck.
I got parts in for upper radiator hose, silicone 90* elbow, a 90* elbow that reduces from 1 1/2" to 1 1/4" in silicone also. then I got a 90* aluminum elbow. once i get everything cut I got a bead roller for the tubing. I will put up a picture of other pieces and a finished product of upper radiator hose. I had my aluminum cut to size the other day for mounting electronics and fuse panel under seat. I need to get it mounted and along with electrics

Re: Mike's 50
Last couple days have made a little progress.
Yesterday I finished cab windlace on around the passenger door, just need to trim the ends on both doors. Earlier in the week upper radiator hose pieces all I think I will need. I'm waiting on some new hose cutting tools I ordered and then I will start working on hose. Today I started to mock up mounting of my "electrical Center" under the seat. Its made of 3/16 aluminum sheet, engine ECM, TCM, and Fuse/Relay center and Dakota Digital box are temporarily mounted with misc, screws. The chassis fuse panel will be mounted on this panel also, still need to mount it to the floor..

Re: Mike's 50
I also installed my windshield by myself and it wasn't terrible but its in and hopefully weather tight. My hands are really sore from Beating on the windshield and seal/outer molding, during install. took a couple hours. I still need to install inner garnish moldings and outer center molding.
I brought them home to clean them up alittle. I also put on the inner fenders, well just because I feel like I'm making progress, not sure if I'll need to remove them for other front end installation.

Re: Mike's 50
I read this every update.
very nice! You used a steele rubber gasket. Was it a real soft sponge rubber or a stiffer material?

Re: Mike's 50
Donandal,
Thank you, not as nice as your awesome build, but will be good for me hopefully. It is p/n: 70-0145-73, it is a sponge material. seems to fit well and is fairly soft

Re: Mike's 50
Yeah I didnt make it to the shop today, thinking I might try tomorrow.
Looking thru receipts I only found the one from Street & performance, and did not find a receipt for thermostat. I did find a swivel thermostat I bought from Summit that didn't fit and was returned

Re: Mike's 50
Well had an appointment with glass guy for Saturday and he didn't show up so windshield did not get installed.
I did get the throttle pedal installed, shortened the wiring to the pedal and finished it up. Got a spot for mounting the OBDII connector, under dash to the left of column. I didnt get pictures but will post some tomorrow. I also got the underside of the front fenders cleaned up ready for a Por 15 coat, same process that was used on bottom of cab will be used on underside of fenders front and rear.
