Jim, thanks... the corner glass is easy, the one that sucks is the rear window. Fanned near impossible to do it without a second person on the inside. But eventually I managed it. Lol

SKYMANGS:
Pic 1,2,3 Passenger side power window installed and functional. I still need to get run channels in it, and work on the drivers side tomorrow.

Pic 4. Shawn really liked the look of the brushed steel on the column. I just sprayed it in satin clear to keep it from rusting. Once the dash is in paint, i'll start working on the stereo and wiring.

Nice work and great detail! Really like the radio behind the grill too. Wondering which power window product you used?
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Thanks AD. I use ez wiring's power window kit (universal). It is relatively in-expensive, straight forward design, and works quite well in these doors. Just enough travel to fully close the window, yet allow it to open far enough to be below the trim when the window is down.

Cecil was missing all the accessory brackets so I purchased a 1991 Camaro Engine for $150 and salvaged all the parts I could. Here's the before and after of the Dona Camaro. I stole everything, including the water pump.

SKYMANGS:
After hours of cleaning and painting, the front end of the motor is together. Notice I had to change the water pump... The 87 had a normal flow pump, while the 91 had a reverse flow. Everything fit like a glove. In order to delete the smog pump and clear the K&N air filter I had to re-route the serpentine belt, while keeping all the pulley's spinning the right direction.

I'm shocked that Chris does in 2 days what has taken me the better part of a year to do-and I have nowhere near the rust that most of his builds have.
Really nice to see.

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Thanks guys. I'm really stretching my ingenuity on this build... so many little things that just aren't meant to fit that need to somehow work on this truck. Lots of minor mods in damn near every inch of this build.

Speedo decal got picked up today, gauge should be finished tonight. I expect Shawn will post pictures shortly.

Here's the modified gauge I'm working on. This is a speedhut 4.5" electronic speedo. My graphics shop created a new decal for the original faceplate with the markings in the correct places for the speedhut gauge. Gauge all finished up. I think it looks kinda slick!

This is why I HIGHLY recommend Chris, its the little details like the wiper switch knob now matches the knobs on the steering column.

SKYMANGS:
Here is the work on the center grill. Started by carefully cutting and drilling a piano hinge. Then bolt the lower trim directly to the hinge. Before I mount it, I open up the upper holes in the dash to 7/16" so the 10-32 nuts on the grill will sink into the dash. Last pics are mounted, open and closed.

Nice work on the center grill. We did that on the truck and put the air ride switches and gauges there with magnets to secure the grilll in the up position. Worked ok.

Looking really good!

Pic 1, Bluetooth microphone installed. Chased the wire up the windshield piller, along with the dome light power.

Pic 2, Power window wiring is chased through the inner/outer cowl panel and then routed down to the door loom.

Pic 3&4, Stainless momentary switches take the place of the original buttons on the door handles.

Looking good!

Skymangs I've seen you do the frameless side glass a couple times now. I want to do that with my 49, what considerations need to be made to do this? Different window run and cut new glass slightly larger than the old to make up for the metal frame that will no longer be there? Where do you source your parts? Thanks!
