Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I stopped at a city park and rode my bicycle 5 miles after lunch. One 1/4 mile stretch is extremely steep.
I need to do that more often.

It’s been handy so far. 36 volt I believe. Quiet too.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Now you're tempting me to spend money again. I wonder if I could charge it off my pickup? Take it on camping trips
I used to go tent camping by myself in my work truck, with my work saw in the toolbox. I didn't need to cut much campfire wood but one time the road to my favorite spot was blocked by a huge tree fallen down. So I just got out my trusty Stihl and cut it a couple places and dragged the log out of the way with a chain and my 2wd pickup. Just another day in the life

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I took my wifes car in for a new tire. I pumped up the old one and made it to the shop. My buddy was supposed to follow me in my 71 and drive me home.
So I drop the car off. Go out and look for my truck...No truck in sight. I'm thinking, this is not good. So I start walking. I get about half way home and see my buddy walking towards me. Okay now I know this is not good. He says. The truck broke down. It's in the middle of the road in front of your house. Which I guess is good because I live on a cul de sac with one other house on it. So I walk. (Uphill) and there's my truck right in the middle of the road. So now after walking up this hill I've got to figure out how to get this truck out of the road. So I get the keys from my friend. He's getting older and he's kind of losing it. He told me it wouldn't even crank. So I went to check. Turns out he still had it in drive. I put it park and it cranked but it was like it was out of gas. Probably because it was. My gas gauge crapped on me. It showed a half a tank. But I got it to fire up long enough to get it back in my yard. I figure I'll replace the fuel pump. I have had troubles with it on hills. And I live in the hills. And fix the gas gauge. And I had to chase my dog. He was chasing my neighbors cat. I'm just lucky he listens to me when I tell him to stop and sit. I would never be able to catch him. So. I got my exercise today.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Today my plans are to work a bit, maybe go to the gym at lunchtime, and pick up the stuff to change the oil in my father in laws car. My wife has decided she cannot part with it just yet so we are going to keep it for a while as the "extra" ride. 2012 Impala LTZ so it's not like it's a beater or something. Needs to go to the tire shop as well as I think at least one tire is out of balance. May just have them replaced as they are getting close to needing it.
Planning on going to the fall swap meet and car show on Petite Jean mountain tomorrow since the weather looks perfect for it. On the electric saw front I can say I got a batter powered pole saw over a year ago and that thing is the bomb. It will cut for about two hours and that's usually enough trimming to give me another two hours of cleanup. Wife got a battery powered string trimmer as he doesn't like my straight shaft Stihl. She usually just does the mowing and I do the trimming but sometimes she beats me to it.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I guess I'll post what I did Wednesday here. I made mention in an old post brought back, but doubt many have looked. Last week I was contacted by Chevyland, said he would be in Washington, DC and have a day free. So that was day before yesterday and he slipped on up to my place. We hopped in the rental car and took a tour of the countryside. Had lunch at Chubby's, a BBQ joint. I'd say it was just pretty decent that day, but still yummy. That town is right at the PA line and not far from Gettysburg. So we rode up there, went through town, and checked out the battlefield a little bit. took another route out of town toward the mountain (north end of the blue Ridge) and explored a bit more, ended up at a place called high rock, a high rock (go figure) outcropping with a view of the Appalachian Valley on over to the Appalachians. A pretty clear day, just a little haze on the horizon. Then we made our way back to my place for a bit before he headed back to his wife, who was the one who had business in DC. It was a great change of pace for me to have a visitor from afar. Eric was a pleasure to meet and spend the day with. Pretty much just what I expected, too. Like hanging with an old friend. It was a good day

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I started putting everything back together on the coupe. I got the head/tail lights done and horn. I still need a new front axle for it so I haven't drove it since I got it back. I welded the front fender supports that were cracked. Just getting it ready. Taking it home with me Thursday and going to install the axle at home a friend of mine has one back in Liberty for it. Plus I'm taking it to our Truck club picnic on the 10 Oct on the ramp truck.
If your anywhere near SC on the 10 this is open to all GM trucks and is the biggest 1 day event in the state. Tim this is the only video I have right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZrsyzdnKIY

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
My wife went out of town overnight for a seminar. She left me a list of things to do.
The minute she left I threw the list away and went and bought some beer. The single life. Got to love it. Then I came up with my own list... Of excuses of why I got nothing done.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Took a ride for lunch . Real nice day yesterday good food and good friends. The two woman that rode with us ride but their husbands have no interest to. And what’s a ride without the tools coming out. Minor job my buddy bottomed out turning around and lost the spring on the jiffy stand . We had to do a make shift holder to keep it retracted.

We drove to town and back today IN our truck - is that okay?
Turned in some paperwork at the court house and got some groceries, and some gas & oil for the chainsaw.

Well my day started off not truck related, went to some local flea markets just hanging out with my wife and kids... then it turned truck related when I found these pieces of wall art for $25...

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Nice flea market find. The flea markets are great out there. Lots of home made crafts, art, and food. Is that a rust hole in the one with yellow bowtie? I have a painted 8-lugger cap with some rust holes. The more character the better. Even sits in a 16.5 x 8.25 steelie with a too far gone rusted bead. If I ever get the water line run that will be my hose reel.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
went to Church, had a good phone conversation with my Son where I listened during part of it,, talked myself out of catfishing or rummage sales, so I could come home and change fuel filter on Lexus. also bought large black house coffee for drive home. I just finished good homemade brunch, so now I can go strip the inline rusted fuel filter lines, and figure out where to tow it to get it fixed right. so far so good, thanks for listening , have a good afternoon.
