Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

Thanks.. lol, actually when I was thinking of changing the wheels, I found your 93 on the web and saved it as an example...I finally decided on chrome rally's instead of painted...and my son who is into his 50 Ford shoebox would love the Von Dutch striping on your tailgate....

Cool! I've had quite a few folks mention that ole truck since I sold it years ago, most wondering about the wheels. My grandfather had a '50 Ford shoebox that I'm inheriting & hope to get on the road again in the future.

It is Impala SS rear disc. No E-brake. Working on a hydraulic parking brake just for short stops.

More recent pic with my kiddo out at Barber Motorsports.

Do you have a build thread somewhere? I'm wanting to install a t56 in my 97 Sierra and looking for advise.

I don't have a build thread. Wish I would have done one. I learned a lot from this site about the swap.

http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/t56.html

I think for the small blocks it is a lot easier than for the big block. The hardest things to find were the clutch/brake pedal and a steering column for a manual.

For my truck it definitely made it more drivable than it was with the TH400. Haven't been able to drive it a lot yet as I'm trying to solve a boost leak but I'm hoping I can get between 15-20mpg cruising with the new setup. Before it was 8mpg no matter how I drove it.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

Here's my 91, I'd like to get another front valence and 15x10 wheels for the rear. I'd also like to swap the old 4.3 for a newer 5.3 but that's a ways off still.
