Re: My own build thread
Sorry all, I haven't stopped working. We just ran into a bunch of problems because we fitted everything with the old cab mounts in "like dummies" and when I put the new mounts in nothing lined up... I've built a lot of cars and never had this much problems. I think my truck is cursed... Haha
But... I think we've finally got most of it figured out, the doors if a lot better with the steel rubber seals and the gaps all look acceptable. They sure didn't care how these things fit together back then... The inside is all painted, the door jams are finished as well as all the edges around all the panels. Now we just have to paint the inside of the hood and block everything once more and we can paint.... I hope.... I know that's probably the 100x I've said it. Lol Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My own build thread
It's gold and its shiny!
We got the top finished, I just painted it so I have to come back tomorrow and see how it turned out but it looks real good for being dark and having crappy lighting. I will roll it out in the sun tomorrow. Thanks bazooka but this is my Dads shop, I have a 5 car garage but its connected to my house so I won't paint in it. The lift is real nice, wish I had one too! Glad you liked the table! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My own build thread
Unfortunately I haven't checked in on your build for a little while. You've done some very nice work on your truck. I'm really liking the colors too. I've always been a fan of metalic browns. I really like the tables you have made too....very nice and creative
Also sorry to hear about your friend . I lost a friend of 30 years almost 2 years ago.....

I still need to go untape it today, I spent 6 hours prepping and painting everything Sat night and spent most of yesterday recovering. It was so hot I probably lost 10 lbs "literally" just from sweating so much. It wasn't very fun... Haha! I can literally say I've shed a whole lot of blood sweat and tears on this project. Thanks everyone! I can't wait to get it out in the sun too. I will unmask it when I get off work tonight and take some more pictures. Hopefully it still looks as good as when I left it. I can't wait to finish the bed and the tail gate. I spent hours blocking the bed out, I will never shorten a long bed again.... It was fun to do and I learned a lot but holy crap was it a lot more work than I thought. The bad part is I used the really slow reducer because of the heat and the hood looked great for about 15-20 mins then the clear sagged in a bunch of spots. Nothing I can't sand out and buff but I've about had all the sanding I can take for a while.... Haha Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My own build thread
Well here it is, we are going to respray the hood, it had some huge dents in it from the PO walking on it I think and it wasn't as straight as we thought... Sigh... But I'm glad we are fixing it because it would have really bothered me if we didn't.
Anywho here is the pics, it looks weird because of the tires, they are much bigger than the wheels I'm going to run plus the concrete dips right in the middle of the truck right there. Wish I could see it layed out but it's going to have to wait. Threw on of the wheels on just to see what it looked like. Wondering if should have went with the bias plies instead of the Coker classics. I didn't realize they would be so small ... But my truck is pretty low so it may look better once everything is together "I hope" Posted via Mobile Device |
