Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
with this tranny being so much bigger, and the mount being 2.5" higher up then the 4l60e.... i was afraid it would interfer with the trans tunnel, so after a few measurements, i desided it would interfer....so i put the cab back on the frame (with the help of the wife) to see where and how bad it was interfering......after we got it on i had her look to see where it was touching and i marked it from inside.....so i cut the hump out, and set the cab completly down.....and with the engine moved back as it is on this truck, it sits close to the firewall, but fits the contores of the firewall like a glove......it looks awsome sitting up on the firewall, they couldn't of done a better design back in 71 to make a new engine fit so good.....
here are some pics |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Why didn't you use the "LH8" oil pan? I think you mentioned it before. Do you have the dimensions? I was looking at this one on ebay, but not sure if it will work.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Ok, couple questoins about the trans cooler...First, how well do they work compared to the in radatior ones like stock? Second what size is it? And where do you get your braided lines and fittings? I am looking to do this mod on my truck, and i see you have done it to a couple ones u have built. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
it is a 18" dual row cooler, can be got from summit, jegs, ebay, etc.....
i use -6 AN fitngings and -6 braided lines, these too came from summit/jegs......compaired to the "traditional" rad. mounted ones this cooler is designed to disapate heat by haveing BOTH internal and external heat dissipating fins also this heat sink design produces high heat transfer with minimal airflow... unlike the traditional radiator mounted ones..... haveing said that it is designed for a non-lockup converter trans cooling needs, so with a lock-up converter, it should work out really well.. |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I tried to look back and see if you said anything, but there is sooo much stuff to look through! Did you leave the outer part of the air vents open to allow for drainage? Or do you have some way of cleaning em out? Just wondering since you blocked them off from the inside. I do like how you mounted your fuse block, looks sharp!

Are you French?! J/k.... Pics of that area would be cool. You've got me thinking now. My kick panels are shot, so I might just weld a solid sheet of metal in there and call it a day.
