Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
Normally I like stuff that isn't flashy. I was very close to painting this thing white. What changed my mind is I was sitting in traffic one day looking at other car colors trying to find out what I might like and it seemed like every car on the road these days is a boring color. This thing is going through too much of a transformation for me to paint it a boring color. Plus I have never owned a car that stands out in a crowd. I'm happy with the color.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
Things are really getting exciting with this build. I have just ordered a ZZ502 and a 4L80E transmission! I'm like a kid at Christmas except, I have to buy my own presents....lol.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
Not a major update but it's something. 2 of the wheels came in today. These are the rears. They are Coys C5 18 x 9.5" I'm really happy with the look and size of these rims and tires. They don't have as much sidewall as the factory 15" rallys but they aren't as low a profile as a sports car.

Oh, I also ordered a Dakota Digital instrument cluster. I went with the carbon fiber and the orange backlight.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
The front rims are 18 x 8" and the rear rims are 18 x 9.5".
The front tire size is 265/50ZR18. I am not 100% on this size but I'm pretty sure. The rear tire size is 295/45ZR18. I am sure of that. The tire brand is Nitto NT555. |

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I've got a buddy who bought a 69 k5 blazer and a previous owner cut out the torque boxes and added extra fuel tanks. I saw that you mentioned that you got new ones and was wondering where you got them.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I feel like they do. I've been in the shop a few times and seen some of their work and it is show quality. They've been doing restorations since 1980.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
A very minor update. They've blocked the doors, hood, fenders, tailgate and interior of the shell. I think it will have paint on it some time next week. Here are 3 pictures. It isn't much but, every little bit means it is that much closer to being finished.

Nice work you're doing here, or having done. Rare to find a shop that does such good custom work and is willing to share photo updates. You're gonna have a nice truck when it's all said and done. Subscribed Posted via Mobile Device
