Thanks again guys. I will be at Goodguys in Scottsdale. I was thinking of saying it is a 72 and going in on Saturday. Think they will throw me out and force me to show on Sunday with all the modern vehicles? I know from past shows that I have been to that the big crowd is Saturday and then thinking it must die down Sunday since it opens to all years and not just the pre-73.

Maybe it is just me, but I thought square body referred to the 73-87 vintage. Either way, I am happy that some of you thought enough of this blazer to vote for it. Thanks guys!

It is still at the upholstery shop as we speak. Hope it will be done this week. With the weather taking a cool turn out here in Phoenix, I am going to put some miles on it and enjoy what I have worked so hard to build!!

That is square body but the contest wasn't limited to just square bodies. You're ride is bad@ss though and deserved to win IMO.

I got it back from upholstery a week ago, but have not even taken any pictures of it yet. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I will get some thins weekend so that you guys can see how it turned out.

The pictures do not do the interior justice as the lighting is not the best. However, you can at least get an idea of design and style. I am very pleased with how it turned out!!

LowElco - did you used to live out here, or just know about the Pavillions? I will be there eventually, but not in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks man. I think I might actually be able to say it is done now. Certainly I do not really believe that I will not turn any more wrenches on it, but the vast majority of the work is now behind me. I will post some better pictures of it at a later date with better lighting.

Those "buckles" were one of a few things that I wanted to keep. When I first started this build 2.5 years ago, I set out to build one similar to one I had back in high school / college 20+ years ago. A few touches like the seat buckles, the aluminum gauge bezel, the orange Cheyenne logo on the dash, the bowtie on the factory center console, the old school 17/18" wheels with spinners, the carbureted engine with manual choke and the static drop were all part of the vision. Doing it "my way" and not necessarily how the trends are today, has given me a great deal of pride in the way this turned out. I spent a ton of hours, and a few more dollars, that I ever thought I would. In the end, it turned out pretty solid and I am very proud of being able to do it in my own garage, with an extremely small amount of outside help.

Thanks again guys. It means a lot to me to hear nice thoughts about this Blazer from a group of guys that understand what it takes.

Thanks again guys. I got out on the freeway for the first time and she rolls really smooth and quiet. Going to take it to the Goodguys show this coming Saturday which is about a 30 mile hike - kind of a maiden voyage of sorts that is the furthest place from my home yet. Baby steps...baby steps

Millerinium, pretty sure I have seen your Blazer rolling around town before. Would love to see it stopped so I can check it out sometime. If you hear of any local shows out in our neck of the woods, send me a personal message and maybe the day works for both of us?

Time to enjoy this ol heap now.
