Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
I like the screen idea. Around here they will build on anything that is out of the rain and direct sunlight. Last summer they discovered my tractor. One in ever blind bolt hole in it. Shop is looking great. Your gonna need a bigger TV.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Thanks Jimmy -
The TV is a left over from days gone by. It should work good for the break area for news/weather stuff. I know what you mean about those daubers, seems like over night they clog every hole they can on stuff you don't want them to.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
If we could just teach them to seal rust holes we would have something.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Been a while since my last update. Spring finally showed up a couple of weeks ago - Yahoo!
Got metal going up under the mezzanine floor and sheet rock in the upstairs area. Progress is always a good thing - even if it is slow

Looks really good! I like the light over the upstairs door. Reminds me of an old style gas station. Very nice.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
So many questions to ask so I'll just go with the ones that keep popping in my head.
Tell us about the gas station islands out front. Also tell us more about the tornado/bomb shelter in the yard

The tornado shelter is a 6x8x7 (W,L,H) concrete box we had installed 19 years ago. We bought the property 25 years ago and have officially lived there for 20 years. I grew up in a small town south of Tulsa, Oklahoma and survived the June 8th, 1974 tornado outbreak so I’ve witnessed the power of mother nature first hand. This was a safety investment/insurance that I hoped we would never use. We’ve been in the “hidey hole” 2 times so far and I’m really glad to have had it. So has a neighbor…lol. Thanks for the questions!

I agree that Barrett Jackson, Frank, Mike and that Rick guy have all escalated prices on these items. Any thing cool now is out of reach for an average guy it seems. Just keep looking. I bought a 1954 National A64 pump un restored for under $500.00 in restorable condition. It may take some time but you can find these for an affordable price. Get on oldgas.com and you might get lucky there as well. Take care friend, Tom

I’ve found some pumps at an old abandoned gas station in a very small town 15 miles south of me. Made an offer to the elderly woman who owns the property and thought I had 2 of the 4 she has bought. But she got sentimental and backed out. She still has my info so maybe she will call me some day as I did make a standup offer. I’m still looking around and have friends looking too. I like that National 64A - Is this what it will look like when you get it restored? Very cool. I’m kind of partial to the “Wayne” pumps (lol) models 70, 100a or 100b, but will settle on something else as long as they are cool, with patina, and at least 90% complete.

I am working on it little by little getting it restored. I have a little different twist than the normal restoration. From the outside it will appear bone stock like the photo you posted but under the covers, it will be detailed like a custom show car I will share photos when it gets done, when ever that may be. Have a good weekend, Tom

Not sure what you are asking. You wanting to find out what the pumps are worth for your friend? Or you wanting to make him an offer? Either way, get the make and model and go to the website Tom suggested – oldgas.com. You will find a great deal of information there. You know what, you might ask your question on this site in the General Forums under Alternate Tinkerings too. I've seen some gas pump information in there before. Good Luck!
