Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Its been a REALLY long time since I've updated this so i have quite a few pics to share, about 90 or so. Im going to split these up into sections for different parts of the truck to make it easier.
Lets start with Chassis/ suspension since thats where i left off. Once i had the frame cleaned up and all of the parts painted, i assembled the air ride and steering components. Then i put the wheels on and aired it out! checking fender clearance. Then rolled it outside for a little photo shoot. Backhalf.

Next is the underside of the cab.
Got the frame and floorboards cleaned up. Masked for undercoating. Undercoated and frame painted.

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
This is the part where i tell you i found a MUCH better body guy to help finish up all the bodywork. The best part is he comes to my house to do the work. its coming out awesome!
So this is the bodywork and some paint section. Firewall masked! Primed Paint.

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Do you have a porterbuilt upper shock mount and c-notch on the back half? I'm getting ready to order the same.

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Cam, glad to see you are still working on your baby. Very cool update, and lots of work done. I can't believe it's been over two years and you've done a complete 180 from when you started. You have done a great job on your ride, and even though we've never met, I'm very proud of the work you are doing at your young age. Good to see your updates and continue on with the great work. I'm so glad to be on this site to watch young guys like you...Jim

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Sweet I really like porterbuilt products. I have there trailing arms with 1 inch drop built into them and trac bar kit. Getting ready to order c-notch and upper and lower shock mounts from them. Then this fall there tubular crossmember. I've saved your build thread cause we have the same pickup and doing the same thing except your doing air bags and I'm doing a spring drop. It keeps me motivated to do things to mine.

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Well, after well over a year of waiting and some snags along the way, the seat is finally wrapped in this beautiful seat cover from member truckseats. My upholstery guy did an absolutely OUTSTANDING job!
Also made the gas fill hole in the cab disappear! Removed the slider. and a little more work on the bed.

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project
Ok, so it seems like i only like to update this every six months or so.
Another big update so ill split it up into sections again rather than try to go in chronological order. Body work is up first, picking up where i left off Finished up on the back window Because I'm relocating the gas tank i had to figure out where to put the fill. I didn't like the look of it being on the bedside and I didn't want to have to deal with putting it in the bed rail so I opted to put it on the bed floor. Went to a local junkyard and found a gas door off of an 90's ford. I got this idea from a member here but i can't remember who Cut the hole fitting the door Welded in All welded in Body worked! Also painted the front of the bed before it went back on

Thanks Mike! I can't take all the credit for the body work, a buddy of mine is helping me out, but I'm definitely learning a lot!
