Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

its about $360. they use the donor motors harness. for what its worth... i'm going to give Nelson Performance a call. i've talked to Hannah @ wait4me once and she was supposed to get back to me on my extra connectors for the 4l80e and shipping instructions and she never did. ive tried calling at least 5 times and left 3 messages. says mailbox full or something like that. i guess i'll take my business else where...

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

OK, progress at last. I finally found time to get my but in the garage and get some work done. Having a friend come over to help was a big determining factor too. We took the harness apart as much as possible and removed all the wires that were just cut back and taped up. It really helped to thin out the harness. I was able to mack up and manipulate the harness enough that it runs from the firewall behind the intake and down both sides with barely being seen. I was also able to mount the ECU behind the dash on the passengers side just above the A/C box so it's totally out of the elements as well. I still need to wrap the harness with wire loom and heat shielding in some spots and then I can mount it permanantly at last. I can almost hear it running now...

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Maybe my standards are too high, but I think it sucks and would never use them again. I opened the harness and found that they didnt remove the wires to make it stand alone but just cut them and taped them in the harness. Therefore, the harness was just as thick when I got it back as it was when I sent it. They also used hot glue to hold the bundles of wire together. Not sure why they did that? but it is stiff as a board now. I got it all mounted but am not totally happy with the look of everything so I may still just take it off and chuck it in the dumpster. We'll see.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

She does.

If you are going to toss it, send it to me! Mine was exactly as I expected... a $285 rework of a factory harness to make it a stand-alone operation. Just remember, Jesse's rework is just like any other at a base price.... to remove the unneeded connectors, tie all the power and grounds together, but not to thin it out or make it a custom fit jobber.

But seriously, if you are going to get rid of it..... I will have another swap coming up.

*** Oops, forgot to add.... there is no hot glue in mine. That's kinda weird.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

It's currently on the engine I'm just lenghtening wires for the ECT sensor so I can make it fit like I want it to. If I had known going in it wasn't going to be thinner( he said it would) I would be OK with the whole thing. Either way, they did a good job for a good price so as long as it runs I'm OK. Maybe just a misunderstanding on my behalf? Who knows, but I was able to move things around enough and hide stuff enough to make me so In the end everyone is happy. Glad to see you around here again Bob. Work been crazy again?

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Hey Josh I just noticed you live in Wake Forest. My son lives and works in Winston-Salem and goes to Wake Forest at night to get his MBA. But anyway I was going to use W4M to do my harness and re-flash the ecm, not really looking to clean up the engine bay just want it to look like it came with this engine. Looking good though.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

If you are not wanting a custom looking harness, Wait4me is the way to go. Economical and pretty fast.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

HArd to say at this point. I work on cars for a living and it's been so busy lately I have a hard time finding time to get back to it. Hopefully before summer so I can cruise the wheels off this thing.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

OK fellas, getting close now! I managed to find some time tonight after the little one went down and Nicole was doing report cards for her class so I fell into the garage to have some fun. I managed to get the core support, grill, lights, radiator, fan, fan shroud, battery and tray and inner fenders all re-mounted. Also ran the battery cables and a couple other things so I was at least able to hear her turn over whith a twist of the switch. Just need to wrap my harness once my wire wrap shows up and wire in a couple things and she'll be ready to go. Holy cow I cant wait now. Will still need to get the driveshaft fixed but I'll just be glad to hear it run. Heck yeah!!!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Thanks guys. I was hoping for some progress tonight too but I ran into a couple issues. My manifolds just arent going to work at all so it looks like I just hit an expensive hurdle. Anybody have some S&P headers for a LS that they accidentally ordered and need to sell cheap? Was also going to try to get my power steering lines hooked up but couldnt find my 1" wrench anywhere. Well, maybe tomorrow.

I am doing the same swap, what is wrong with your exhaust manifolds.
