Re: My 52 GMC Build

I picked up the stainless steel I'm making the fuel tank with. Time to fire up the tig. It's 16ga. The 2 pieces for the tank are on top of each other the smaller pieces are for baffles and mounting.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Those are the wings that go on the splash apron behind the grille. The two small parts go between the wings and the center pan.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well Friday I met up with the slow movers club that put on the Unfinished Nationals car show. I was awarded my trophy for "Vehicle of the year" I keep the trophy for a year and bring it back next year. In place of the trophy I get a plack and a picture of my truck will go on next years: dash placks, award placks. Or T-shirts. Sweet

If you have room right behind the grille that's a great place for a horn...

I mounted my 2 original horns right below the grill behind the filler pan so they're right at the front of the truck. They were 6-volt and now they're on 12-volt, so when I honk it nearly stops traffic. It does stop pedestrian traffic

Ya I was thinking a similar spot, below the inter-cooler.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Today I finished up putting in my mock up drive shaft. I used the front and rear section of the cube vans two drive shafts to make one. Now I can get one made. I used some 6" tube for the frame notch. Also got the E brake peddle in place, once I figured where I wanted it.

I could. I payed $400 just for he stainless tho. I would prob be cheaper to buy a universal tank. But pm me if you want to go with the custom stainless tank.
