I am seriously thinking about taking my 71 and looking for a new cab to build a circus wagon truck. I have allot of parts left over to make another SWB by cutting down the lwb frame on the 71. I wish I could locate some donor parts for a cheap build, maybe after I get this one done.

Re: My First
Ahhh, I see... Good to know. Another question I had for you is how far from the ground is your crossmember? It looks pretty low in some of the pics. Im assuming there are no mods to it at all, except from the PB control arms?

To get a better idea, my daughter in the pics is 4'-10 and is taller than the truck. My son is 5'-4 and is about 8" or so taller than it also.

Re: My First
Man, that's gotta be exciting! I can't wait to get that far along in my build.
What bags are you running in the front? I noticed you had said your front crossmember pretty much hits the ground. Mine is about 2 inches from the ground (of course I don't have all the weight on it yet).

I had the same issue when I had everything installed and could not figure out why it would not lay all the way down. I called Nate and we chatted about it and it came out that I was shock bound. I installed Nate's shock relocator bracket and the problem was solved. Your frame should lay on the cross member also if you have the control arms and shock relocators. It may sit on the cross member with the stock control arms too but don't quote me on that. Take some pics and send them to Nate and he maybe able to help you out. I tried to get a hold of him a few times and left messages but he must be out or busy. I should have my truck back by the first part of next week and I will be taking apart the front to get the new bushing inserts from him so hopefully I can get in touch with him soon. Matt

Re: My First

Re: My First
Thanks so much guys and it surely is appreciated.
I tell you what I had a smile on my face for days after hearing it start for the first time. Even though I had some help getting the wiring done and some other items it still is great feeling of accomplishment to get this truck to where it is now. I have some new steam built up so hopefully I can get this thing done so I can enjoy part of the summer with it. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement and kind words!

Re: My First
It's just a temporary seat out of my buddy's shop to allow me to move truck around.
I am going with a modified bench sent out of a 93 chevy. I already made the mounts but have to shorten the bracket up about 2 1/2" to allow the seat to sit under the window.
