Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

I understand about the arthritis. I have had it myself since I was 9 years old. The bad debilitating kind. I'll have to tell you about it someday.

Anyway, build is looking good. Rest those hands.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My arthritis is called Ankylosing Spondilitis. It's rough stuff. I push myself to stay as active as I can. Normally, I over-do-it. Then, my body rebels and I have to be laid up for a few days. Endless cycle, but like you, I keep fightin' it!

I heard about the bad snowstorm. Hope everyone will be ok. Stay Safe, and no problem on the stuff. Whenever you can. I really appreciate it.

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

What a ****ing nightmare to convert automatic to manual. My engine will push out 400 plus rear wheel hp once done this sat. So I sought out for a manual trans. For the record there is only like 2 trans rated for 400 plus rwhp that are 6 speeds.

One is out of a 96 and under camaro, trans am and so on. It's a borg warner t56 mated to a LT engine.
2 is a German zf 6 speed out of a vette. Also a LT based engine.

Now to mate it to a LS base engine you need a custom lt to ls bell housing then a internal hydraulic throw out bearing.
Now since my trans is used on a lt it uses an mech throw out bearing with a hydraulic slave cyl.

To get it to work correctly you need to change the front cover on the trans then also change the input shaft and shims races and bearings. Tremec stopped making input shafts so to find one is next to impossible. And if you do it's huge bucks like I paid through GM. 3 times the normal price. Anyway I will post pics of all this happy horse **** once I get it.

Thought my frame was done. Nope had to cut the trans xmember out to re adapt it to the new stick set up. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

P.s mr ole blue didn't forget ya. Just trying to get this frame done to send it out to be painted.

No problem. Looks like project is coming along well. When do you hope to send it out for painting?

I'm pushing for the chassis to get painted this week. Once that's out it will free up space so I can get started on the cab.

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

Well finally the frame is done. One last minute mod. I made a trailer hitch. I had some extra 2 1/2 box tubing which is used as a reciver and fabbed it up. Tomm going to drop the frame of to get sandblasted and powder coated. Not sure on the color yet. Still undecided on a color scheme. Have a few more things to finish up to get all the chassis and parts powder coated. Then I can hit the cab and bed.

Will you be able to use the original cab and body panels? I had no choice but to reuse mine, even though they were in pretty bad shape.

Another step closer, bud!

I can definitely understand where you are on deciding the color scheme. It's amazing how you can knock out a one-off frame, but fret like a school girly over a prom dress when it comes to colors, isn't it?

What ever I had ready I rounded up to drop off to be powder coated. So the frame front susp rear susp exhaust is all there. The frame is getting done one color and the suspension another. Don't want to ruin a good surprise. Lol

Re: project "call of duty" 72 c10

So today my buddy and I worked on the pass side inner fender well. I had to cut the old one out so I could fit in the trailer fender. Cutting it out weakened the side of the bed. Took some 16 gauge and went to work. It's not finished but here's what we got done. Once the bed comes back from being sand blasted I will seam seal it then undercoat it.
