Re: Dragndoorhandle
Nice! So you had to widen the hinge and make angle iron brackets for the fenders, right? Did you have to install a popper to bring the hood up when unlatched it and how did you mount the hood to the hinge. Sorry one more, what new spring did you use to keep the hood up. thx

Re: Dragndoorhandle
Yes for now I fabbed up soem angle iron brackets fro the hinge to fender attachment. I never did get the hood to pop up above the 72 grill shell. I used 1x1 square tubeing to mount the hood to the hinges but I made a frame on the underside of the hood uesing the hood bracing to attach the 1x1 square tube to the hinges(hope that makes sense??

Re: Dragndoorhandle
So you never got the 72 style hood to work right? Was the only problem you had getting the hood to pop up so you could get your fingers under it or was there more and thats when you decided to change front ends. Any help would be great, I dont want to start hacking this hood up and the realize that it wont work.

Re: Dragndoorhandle
I changed front clips because I liked the early stykle better than the 72 style as far as a hood popper maywant to try a newer style chevy hood latch..

Re: Dragndoorhandle
It still does but Volker has two 2x4s under the front X-member. Everytime it lays on the rockers it was screwing up the gap between the doors and fenders. Also we decided not to cut the bottoms of the rockers, fenders and bed sides off. The only reason I doored my truck was to try to be lower than camero thunder but that guy is the man and he beat me. So Im raisin it up 1 1/4.
