Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I like the stock mirrors too. Although, maybe just the sport mirrors with the custom paint. The dumbo mirors might look out of place now???

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
that looks awesome man. imo... i'd shave the mirrors if the door handles and key holes are shaved. its hard for me to tell.
i keep looking at it... the drip rails are shaved too? if so shave it all buddy!

I would get him to re-do the doors. Would be a lot easier now and you would be happier in the long run.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
i'd go with the small sport mirrors like Josh said then. either way he still has some holes to fill unless you like the look of the dumbo's

Nice.... I think it looks good. personally all i'm keeping is the key holes and handles. i'm getting rid of the mirrors and drip rails. its your truck man I'd say photochop some in and see what it looks like good luck. I'm still gathering parts for my 6.0/4l80 thanks for all the help and advice on that

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
thx all.
I called my buddy last night and asked him to fill in the holes....It might be a pain, but I did go over that with him when I brought it to him. He is going to do it, no problem.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Finally got the truck home today.
Well, did not get mirror holes filled...blah,blah...a few chips and scratches, on bottom where the blue was sprayed, it was not sprayed very good, you can see the white through it, on bottom under door. One area has 2 bubble I did not notice until getting off trailer, where driver drip rail is in front, looks like someone put the drip rail on too early, literally pulled the paint down when screwed rail down, causing 2 bubbles the size of my thumbnail. I do appreciate my friend doing this for me, but wtf, if you did not offer to do it and ask me what I wanted, then dont ask or offer, eh? I'm feeling a little sick right now, got 2k worth of brakes laying in garage for a truck I dont even want to drive. I only want it right, maybe that's too much to ask for these days? No pics, don't ask. Too po'd right now.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I had a painter try to get over on me like that a couple years ago. Car had sanding scratches visible through the clear, all over. (looked like it was wet-sanded with 240 before they based it). The painter's response was "you won't be able to see that when the car's put together". After that I learned to do my own paint and bodywork.
Okay. Even if the painter is your boy, you need to let him know what you're not happy with, in a civil manner, and work out with him what it will take, bare minimum, to make you happy, or at least more satisfied than you are now. Money is money, and friends is friends. On the one hand, he cut you a deal but on the other you still paid him to do work for you, and he's still responsible for fixing what you're not happy with just like he would for any other cash-paying customer. |

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Sorry to hear about your troubles Jon, I know how stoked you were about picking it up. Do you think it's something Todd could fix fairly easily? I can bring him over to take look at it if you want.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I will get some up maybe tomorrow. It's at the inlaws right now. Since he took his Falcon to get painted, he let me use it til it gets back. I have a little more room over there to "work".

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Sorry to hear the paint didn't turn out like you had hoped. I'm having a friend do mine too but it should work out well. We are painting his vette right now. Good luck getting everything resolved.
