Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
That is a nice truck. At 24,000 GVW it's what I would call a heavy medium, just under CDL.

I hope you're putting in a hopped up 427, that would be sweet! 400-700hp!

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
It looks like junk now. LOL. Im too picky. This truck has turned into a bigger project then I wanted it to. But I figured what the hell. I own a restoration shop. So I am gonna end up taking the cab off of the frame and doing a nut and bolt restoration on it. At first I just wanted to clean it up a little and drive it. But things never turn out that way you plan. Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I did start a build thread, its titled 72 C/50. So check it out. Love the site. Thanks Scott Chalk

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
Not too shabby! Without seeing more,I'm guessing it's a '70. It'll be a 366 motor is original.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
It's got Spoke Wheels, but not the heavy wide axel. The GVW could be as high as 24,000. Looks like a tough 'ol truck.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
If the Tilt Front Nose is original, it looks like about a '74 Chevy.
With that Long Chassis, it would make a nice Heavy Duty Rollback. The GVW should be around 50,000. Bill

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
I wonder what is original on that body. I'm thinking the doors and front end are replaced,or someone has an odd flair for fashion with that 2-tone job. I love a tandem flatbed or rollback. I'd have to look hard for something heavy enough to need it for, though. I always did want to start collecting antique construction equipment...heh heh
I never showed this '70 C/60 near me I was wishing I could buy. The 366 purred like a kitten:

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
Pretty nice truck. The great thing about buying a Road Tractor is that it will definitely have Air Brakes. Picture that truck all done over with a Pick-Up Bed on the back of it. I don't believe I ever saw a "Pick-Up" with Air Brakes. It would be one pretty cool truck.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!
I keep hearing how it sounded. Just a ice tight low tone. Once the compressor warmed up and stopped farting It was so quiet under the hood. I think I'd want to keep it as a tractor and find a small Rogers low-boy or Landoll (tilt bed) and use it like a rollback. It's all there and unmolested, right down to the tail and reverse lights. Picture that thing hauling a fifth wheel camper. I actually have a line on a big one from this era.
